After assuring readers at length that German director Uwe Boll will not have anything to do with the project.

^^ thank fuck for that atleast.

I'll keep a close look on this movie, most game adaptations too films turn into to horrid shit like most movies on the big screen these days, all we can do is pray that if it is true it lives up to the MGS franchise, which I doubt it will…

I hope so... Gamespot is the only source that gave some credit to that piece of information on Konami fake E3 newsletter. May the god of gaming save us!

This is the one series I really, REALLY don't want to become a movie. I'm going to have to say it will have to be a direct carbon-copy of the first MGS for it to succeed...I really don't want to see a lame 'side-story' a la the Resident Evil movies or something..

Hear, hear! :arrr:

I honestly had no idea what to make of the article...I only know I almost had a heart attack, so I had to post it here for confirmation. Let's really just hope it's a joke...I mean, hasn't Kojima seen the sh*t that's been coming out in Hollywood these days, especially videogame adaptations? Oh wait, Japan can be spared of such filth. Regardless, I thought the man would be smarter than this. :peoples:

Like Tt, I don't want any of the MGS games to be turned into a movie...even if Uwe Boll won't be directing it, sorry dan. MGS is such a beautiful game with a moving storyline, I just don't think it'll be remotely possible to capture the essence or the spirit of it onscreen. :( Plus, it'll be difficult to get a perfect cast who looks the part and can, what's that word, act?!

To tell you the truth, I stopped caring about wether movies are adapted from video games or not, and even more, I actually look forward to them. It's not like the games are going to stop coming out or they are going to suck just because the movies do. If I don't like the movie, I'll forget about it and leave it at that, I'm still going to enjoy the games.

Now, what if David Hayter had a part on the movie? What if he was the screen writer? What if some members of the teams that have put the games together actually have a big part on making the movie? If Kojima is involved in the project, I'm confident that he will ensure that the movie won't disappoint the fans. If anything, it'll get non-players or non-fans interested into MGS.

I heard somewhere else that he confirmed that there won't be a movie made from the game. I hope that's true. Though, it would be interesting to see who would play the characters and how the movie would turn out.
