dunno why exactly, but I have yet to play SH4..i refuse to pay over 20 for that game so I patiently wait for the price to drop. I'm not expecting much at all, just some genuine SH moments will suffice.

Truth is my memory card got wiped out last holiday season, so I've been putting off replaying both SH 2 (greatest hits edition with Maria scenerio) and of course Silent Hill 3..SH3 was great, had a good flow and was a direct sequel to the first game..a worthy one too.

Now there's a film in the works, and from the looks of it they are trying hard to surprise fans with references to the games..here's some pics.

Who's directing it? If done by Hollywood it will probably suck I'm affraid. I hope it is done by Hideo Nakata or Takashi Shimizu, they'll be able to catch the atmosphere of the game.

It is being directed by Christophe Gans. He has done one horror movie before, Necronomicon, based upon a book by Lovecraft [I've heard that name before..]. But he has also directed Le Pacte des loups, otherwise known as The Brotherhood of the Wolf, I absolutely LOVED that movie. I'm cautiously awaiting the big screen version of this now. I have yet to play SH4 either, the only one I havn't played, I will sometime..

Here's Gans' bio on imdb; http://imdb.com/name/nm0304521/

edit; Since this is a Silent Hill thread, I'm sure Harry will eventually see it, please reply to the pm I sent you a couple weeks ago. :S

I have been lookin up info on the upcoming Silent HIll movie like a rabid psycho. Anyways... I do not want to give anything away... I did read two possible plot outlines that may be used and was pleased with the depth and trueness to the series they portrayed. Christopher Gans is a great director and I am quite pleased to see him on board. The movie is being filmed in a small town in Canada and it does not look like it will be all Hollywood-ized like the Resident Evil movies, which I consider to be abominations. From the looks of it, Konami and the producers of the game are directly involved and one very important aspect I think is that Akira Yamaoka (think I got that right) who has been responsible for the sounds and music for the Silent HIll series will be heading the score for the movie!!! That could not possibly make me more excited!!! IN fact, I am listening to the Silent HIll 3 soundtrack right now. What a masterpiece.

Apparently, the movies is to contain plot elements and references covering all 3 of the first Silent HIll installments. I read a rumor that pyramid head may make an appearance, unfortunatelly as exciting as that sounds, I have not seen anything else to back this up. We shall wait and see.

As to whether this movie turns out to be everything I hope for or not will remain to be seen, but I have a good feeling about this one.

Nice info Red! Starting to sound interesting afterall. If you guys wanna get in the mood with an excellent japanese horror flick(and I'm not talking that grudge/ring type of films) check out Premonition. Great grasping story+atmosphere.
