Anyone whos been in a relationship can tell you- it takes a lot for it to work. Maybe not in the beggining, but especially when its pulling in "extra innings"..years and years. And so, here comes some marriage counseling from the movie Mr and Mrs Smith.
To make a relationship work when its on the rocks, all you need is communication. To make a marriage work between Pitt and Jolies' featured characters, all you need are pistols, throwing knives, bazookas, shotguns, bombs, headbutts, and....yes, communication. In a very fundamental way, isnt being in a relationship with someone just like two assassins out to kill each other?
the answer is yes. The common struggle between both parties is necessary because it proves that both involved are adament about keeping what makes them unique intact. In sesame street language

A movie that takes this idea and runs with a comedic sense of irony (ironic that Pitts marriage supposedly went to the dumps during this movie) and enough gunplay to choke a large giraffe is very different....but only because it works. Both actors are bound to get the #1 movie this weekend just from the people wanting to see their "chemistry" and well......its all over the screen, you'll get what you paid for. Along with a small role from Vince Vaugn and some smart writing, the two actors kick each others ass and look good doing it from start to finish. Just when you think the movie might drag it picks up and keeps the story going. These two characters who've been lying to each other since the first day they met start to give themselves reasons to tell the truth, and soon its like both are meeting each other again after 5 or 6 years of marriage.
Slick movie, smart writing, comedy and action...and more importantly, eye candy from either actor, which ever reproductive organ you may have.
