Kinda simple: which is your fave final boss and why?
You can express your reason both regarding mere battle aspects and for personal taste (ex. if the final boss was particularly good for you because of its connection with the plot, with other characters and so on...). :)

I hope it's clear what I wanted to say :D

Seymour. He wasn't the LAST boss, but he was one of the final bosses. I just loved finally beating the crap out of that loser.

I really liked the fight with Kuja in FFIX. He had that cool circle spinning and the music was incredible.

Even if I didn't like her very much as a character and as a villain, the final battle I liked the most in FF games is the one against Ultimecia. I liked it, for some reason, maybe because the first time I wasn't expecting the random choice of the members of your party. I made the mistake to give all GF and magic to only three members of the party, because I thought it was possible to choose which ones to use. So, when Ultimecia (or it was Griever?) killed Quistis and Irvine because they were too weak and they disappeared, I found it hilarious
Zell was weak as well, but I liked him and for a miracle he survived ...

I didn't really like Ultimecia that much, either. As an overtone villian she was cool... but that freaky accent when she finally showed up at the end was kind of distracting. *shrugs* She was still my favorite final boss, though. The random character choice wasn't really a factor the first time I played, though.. 'cause two out of the three characters I was planning to use was chosen.. the one who wasn't equipped properly died in moments, and was replaced with my third major player. :D Her invoking Griever was interesting, too. I was like "..Hey! That's mine!!" ..kind of makes you think about how Guardian forces are made.. if she comes from the future and Griever was what Squall modeled himself on (not sure if this is the right terminology.. it was like griever was an aspect.. an ideal) ..then maybe the Guardian Forces were just spirits of powerful warriors. *was tripping out thinking about that throughout the closing sequence.. almost missed da big kiss. :D*

My all time favorite was Zeromos from FFIV

The character caused a lot of trouble and had the strength to back it up. The only way to be able to defeat him is if you have mastered you characters and have a perfect tactic.

Though he was easy, I really liked Necron from FFIX. I never saw him coming after Kuja. And his design was kind of bizarre.

hmmm interesting topic
I always found seymour/kuja one of the best kinds of villains in the whole game due to the fact of their very own design and creation. They were so well designed that it made me be amazed at those ff, but who could ever forget the ever maniac Kefka and the way he made the whole game seem funny. Those moments I shall never forget :)

deffo ultemecia the reason being i loved the enviroment you fought in and the bg music was incredible. A great end to a great story.

Plus the events that followed about Squall as a child i thought were amazing.

The problem recently with bosses is that they are often weaker than Optional bosses in the game. I'd say that Omega, Ozma et-al are far more enjoyable than the others...

I'd say of pure reputation (haven't one up against him yet) Kefka is one of the best, and I'd sure like to meet Ex-Death in the final battle (Not just a tree. an Evil Tree...), But i'd be stoopid to say they are good if I haven't tried them yet....

So i'll put it down to Kuja/Neocron for design, Sephiroth for the Music and Ultimetica for difficulty and overall lastability. Shame she was a crappy character...

Ultimecia: a weak character but a good final boss. I think these two aspects are indipendent, so a good final boss can be a terrible character :D

Ultimecia....I would never get there...I can't get the hang of the game...it's just not hooking me, that's why I'm taking a break from it and starting Lunar...maybe after FFVIII will seem more appealling

I know what you mean FFVIII can be abit hard to get into and I've got to admit I've still let to complete it, though I've recently been on it alot because I want to try and complete it before FFX comes out over here.
It was hard for me to get into mainly because of the Junction system, but I've got the hand of it and the game is now starting to grow on me a bit more.
Especially now that in all my FF games I believe that Squall is my strongest character in all of them.

I think you should give it sometime Sword 4 Hire, it is a great game and I'm sure you will like it in time :)

I'm still playing FFVIII. I'm about 1/4 the way through the third disc (I think). I'm really enjoying the game, and I welcome the challenge it brings. The plot is very good. Probably the most complex of any of the Final Fantasy games thus far. I know I'll finish it, I just need to find the time.

It's well worth it, believe me. At first I wasn't even interested in FFVIII *because* of the junction system. I wanted Materia back, dangit.

It really is innovative, though.. especially if you work out a couple of ways to use it to your extreme advantage (Play cards, refine cards into items, refine items into full stocks of spells, play as a demigod for the rest of the game)

And you're right, Jeb. It's definantly got the most complex plot. 'specially if you've been paying attention to the tiny stuff (like Zell's obsession with Balamb Garden's cafeteria hot dogs) and it's really all wrapped up nicely in the closing sequence.. I'm not gonna spoil it but the game ends in a way that puts a very good, solid end to the story.. doesn't leave ya hanging in any respects. ^_^

i agrea ff8 has definitly the best ending in the series so far (only played ff7 ff8 ff9 fft ff6 only complete ff7 ff8 and ff9)
With the exellent bg theme it doesnt leave any unanswered questiosn which perhaps the ff7 one did.

Agreed. that FMV is amongst the best in the series.

I agree too. Just that FMV makes up for the relatively slow gameplay start the game gives. (the battles really don't get challenging until near the end of the first disc.. that's the only thing I've ever really seen wrong with it besides a few minute details and translation indescrepencies)
