I was wondering if anyone knows why in Toca Race Driver there are offically licenced cars and they can gain extensive damage but in Gran Turismo the cars can not be harmed in any way. Is there a reason for this or a decision by the developers?

I don't know for sure, but Codemasters may have arranged damage with the manufacturers to preserve more reality in the game.
Racin without damage is like cake without frostin, why bother IMO

Yeah, I don't know either, but it's a good question. Damage is definitely one of the best features in TOCA. You sure can't bounce off the walls and expect to win very many races.

I agree, if ya drive like a bobo you're goin to damage these ToCA rides and the cars for sure will not perform up to the max if they're damaged.

GT4 is goin to be a great game, if it had damage included or the option to turn it on if ya so chose then it would be all that much better IMO, they could have just added a damage feature and given racers the choice, like in ToCA.
Oh well, some gamers can't race with damage on so I guess GT4 will be very popular with them. :boo:

Yeah, lack of damage and online play kinda puts a dent in GT4, especially since they have had so much trouble releasing GT4 so far. TOCA 2 has alot of bang for the buck though.

I'm sure I'll get GT4 when it comes out. As a racing fan, it's gonna be hard to pass up, but I doubt it will be any more fun than TOCA 2 has been.

I've really gotten bummed out when racin games don't have some form of damage included or at least available as a feature to turn on.
Dents happen in racin and all damage should affect the way the car performs.

The thing about the new GT4 is, I want to find out how they're goin to then give us online play?
Are we goin to be hit with another fee to get a disc that will turn on online play, online has to be in the version comin out I would think, just that it will be hidden till they want to activate it.
So how do we get it and how much more will it cost us? :frust:

Those are all good questions about GT4 and I guess we'll know sooner or later. Of course, the game actually has to come out first, LOL.

No doubt when GT4 hits the shelves it'll be unbeliebable, knowin that can ya imagine what the online would have been like and what it'll be like when we finally get it, these delays have made me :grumpy: for sure about the whole issue. :cussing:
