okay guys i just came of ps2 central forums and read ps3 game
someone post that when ps3 comes out it won't play
psone games i hope it not true because when ps3 comes out
i want it play psx game i know it going to play ps2 games

I doubt PS3 will play playstaion 1 games, cant your PS2 do the job fine? or even pick up a cheap PSX.

I agree with you Dan. But I'm sure some people are going to trade in their PS2 towards the PS3.

Yup, I traded my PSX towards my PS2, but the PS2 plays PSX games, I guess well just have to wait and see, its going to be long time! 2005!

yes my ps2 play psx game and sorry i didn't know that ps3 was
coming out in 2005 i thought it next year plus by time ps3 is out
i will have gamecube who maybe i will keep my ps2 and get ps3 when it comes out so then i n 2005 when get ps3 it go by my ps2
then i will have my gamecube a new tv stand.

Well, the PS3 and Xbox 2 are coming out in 2005, its supposed to be the the most feirce battle of sales and power in video gaming history! Cant wait!:ghost:

as long as there is lots of explosions, neither can I.

as for the future PS3 supporting PS1 games... No one knows as nothing has been announced. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the PS3 uses the same Optical Disk size as PS2 and PS1, I can't see any technical reason why it can't run PS1 games (Provided they bother to put the effort in to make it work). And maybe i'll be able to complete MGS on the PS3 ^_^

Though I've got no source to back this up (I believe I saw it on Channel 4 Teletext :laugh: ), I may have heard somthing about Sony recruiting people with expertise in the area of Playstation emulation. logic would suggest some link between that and either the PS3 or the PSP.

Just don't hold me to it :laugh:

Dont know if this has mentioned before in this thread but Playstation3 will for sure NOT play Playstation1 games. Because that'll require more money and not many people will be using PsOne games on Ps3 (According to their Survey). Giving the system a Backward compatibility means spending more money on it and seeing that it wont be that useful, Sony dropped the Idea of making Ps3..PsOne compatible.

And it has also been said that once Playstation3 comes out in the market, that is ... "Xmas 2005" (Hopefully), Sony will stop producing PsOnes and its games. Everything will be shut down.

I think thats a good idea, because as PsOne production will close down, they'll have time and money to spend it on PSP, which would play games as good as PsOne or even better. So instead of wasting time and resources on a 10 years old machine, they'd instead spend it on the New PSP. :)

I dont think PS3 will play PSX games but by the time it comes out there will be very little or no PSX games being made anymore. So sony wont feel the need to incorporate that in the PS3. I will always keep my PS2 i wudnt exchange it towards my PS3 so i dont have to worry about that.

Surely it shoould play PSX games!! Thats ridiculous if it doesn't. Unless they do a Nintendo and change the discs so thheyre so samll you can break em between your finger and thumb. But anyways, they have to make it compatible cos if people have to get rid of their P2 towards the cost they'd have to sell their PS1 games. Thats just plain :disturb:

So, have you heard anything saying that the PSP will have some PSOne remakes? Anyway, I wouldn't really mind if the PS3 doesn't play PSOne ganes. I mean, I don't really play them much anymore but then again I probably will always want to play Grandia over and over and over again. I'm always trying to level up further at a certain point before advancing, not to mention I have yet to complete all the side quests in seperate or in all one game. I guess I've said enough, sorry.

EDIT:I just saw your post Daniel and besides Grandia I still kinda play Legend of Dragoon, FFVII, FFIX, Final Fantasy Chronicles, and I still have yet to beat FF2 in FFOrigins.
