I was playing with PS once again, and since I've got nothing better to do, I'll post the result of my wasted time.

Here's the old style image (http://www.kokuun.net/images/test.jpg) I got after some editing.

Here's the original image (http://www.kokuun.net/images/img138.gif) before the editing.

Greatest part of the brushes are mine, the others are from ... wow, I can't remember! *checks* from these (http://veredgf.fredfarm.com/vbrush/main.html) sites (http://members.lycos.co.uk/prettybrush/).

Anyway, I wonder why I had to make an already quite old photo look older... duh... :heh:

I could decide to complete and use it someday.

Hmmm... I think I've seen this woman somewhere before... Is she an actress or something? I can't remember.
I think the photo looks much better after the editing :D

Have to agree with that........ just a great paper effect on it (thats what I think it is...I guess). Plus you made it more real.....thats how pictures turn out to be, when they are found in the basement after 38 years.

The Product looks like a genuine old photo... It's beautiful how the pose and lighting of the original photo lends an intensness to the left and the slow fade to the edges (yet it's fantastic how all the detail is present in the new version.). No idea whatsoever how you achieved these effects, but they're outstanding

Yes, she's an actress. Her name is Louise Brooks. Her movies are all from the period 20's-30's, so hmmm, I don't think many people around here had the chance to see her :heh: She's just beautiful.

As for the effects, well, working with the brushes is not that difficult, and you can do almost anything with them. But since I cannot always find the brushes I need around, I had to make my own sets, which is very simple anyway. It just takes some time to find the suitable images. That's the worst thing. I should have my own site with downloadable brushes, maybe, but it bothers me a little, and I'm too lazy :P

Wow that good. Damn good. Much better than anything I can do. In photoshop all I can make is some neat fire and water (my sig background) effects.
