FF X. Dark Matter problems

I had gotten some Dark Matter and decided to fight in the Arena to get to 60 so I could make a weapon for Tidus with the Break Damage Limit on it (the Chocobo race for his sigil can just bite me).

The only problem is, as soon as I hit 46 Dark Matter, they completely stopped dropping in the Arena.. Is it programmed to not let you get 60 there, or is it like the rarer monsters when your trying to capture them and just have a few left, the spawning of them just gets ludicrously low...?

I kept track of the battles I had gotten Dark Matter in previously, in 196 battles I got 46 Dark Matter, then the next 100 battles, none! :shock:

Have you gotten all the creatures for the arena yet? Could just be you need new 'blood,' if you will.
I remeber the only Dark Matter I ever got was from fighting that first monster in the arena, and I think you were sort of guaranteed that, anyway. The only thing I really ever did there was bring him the monsters so I could get Auron's weapon.
