altered beast looks really good. I only got to play the original once and that was in an arcade a long time ago. I wish there was some more screen shots of kunoichi. The game sounds interesting if it's the sequel to shinobi.

Sega has released a few more details on the follow-up to the Sega Genesis classic...

Altered Beast for the PlayStation 2 is the sequel to the classic game that came bundled with the Sega Genesis console over ten years ago. Developed by WOW Entertainment and scheduled for a 2004 release, Altered Beast puts you into the role of a military operative that must investigate a deadly genetic outbreak in a small West Coast town.

However, before you know it, your mission quickly becomes a battle for your own survival. Suddenly you are being hunted by unspeakable horrors and haunted by your past. In order to overcome this evil, you must use your ability to transform into a variety of powerful beasts. Wave after wave of failed genetic experiments will try to take you down. Soon you will have nothing but the savage desire to uncover the true nature of the beast.

The game's features include:


Morph into more than eight creatures, such as a Werewolf, Dragon, Minotaur, and more -- each with its own combat techniques and skills.

Manipulate your Genetic DNA system to assign powerful and strategic attributes to each beast.

Graphic CG sequences display the horrific transformations from man to beast.

Huge 3D areas to explore, each with their own mind-numbing boss to defeat.

Sega showed off a video that will be premiering to everyone at E3 today of the OverWorks-developed action game, Kunoichi. Despite earlier reports that Kunoichi would be a sequel to the recently-released Shinobi, this isn't the case.

Due out this fall, Kunoichi is a spin-off of sorts that borrows several elements from OverWorks's previous PlayStation 2 game. Similar gameplay mechanics have been included and upgraded; for example, Kunoichi, the heroine clothed in white, can pull off an unlimited number of tates besides normal attacks. OverWorks is making a conscious effort the make Kunoichi easier than Shinobi after receiving complaints, though.

But most interesting is the news that Kunoichi will feature vast, urban environments instead of the linear, plain landscapes of Shinobi. Villains will be military personnel instead of demons..
