I had an idea...what if sony decided to rerelease online versions of classic PS1 titles to play on the PS2 just for the purpose of being able to play them online? Think about the millions of possibilities. Also...Might it be possible to have more games you can have the online experience with through dial-up that way? I'm not exactly sure how it works...what causes you to have to use broadband instead of dial-up...so would it possibly be easier with the older PS1 games with less processing going on at once, etc.? Does anybody see what I'm getting at? (hope i posted this in the right forum)

Well, if they remade the games that would be great. Just think of the possibilities. But it would be impossible to use a ps1 disc and go online. That and a lot of original ps1 games were not made with the intention of online play. In fact I would not say that the ps1 had a lot of games that would make for killer online games.

With broadband there is not as much lag as there is with dial up. Thus you won’t have total chaos of people getting kicked off or making the game go really slow. I think it is easier for the game developers to make games only broadband because they do not have to work as hard. But I don't think it will be getting any better for dial up users as more people obtain high speed internet because the price is coming down. If you play Socom you know that it is bad enough with just broadband.

I don’t think that right now Sony would do that. But I would not be surprised if in the next 5-10 years a lot of classic sega, snes, ps1, and N64 games start to get remade.

This would never happen, might aswell just do remakes of the games on next gen consoles, much easier, but I would luv for this happen, many of them though which I would just rather play with my freinds than online.
