What are some video games you would suggest someone get for PS1 or PS2?

That doesn't really matter I was talking about for any genre because I will play any game that looks like it is worth my time to play no matter which genre it is. :)

First off u should get Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid 2, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Final Fantasy X, NBA Street, Max Payne, and Red Faction.

for psone i suggest the FF game's. but you probally have those already;) well all the re's on playstaion that's if you can find a copy of RE1 on psone. legend of dragoon,driver 1 and 2,metal gear solid. that's all i can think of on psone.
ps2: time splitter's 2,FF10,red faction 1 and 2,tony hawk pro skater 4,argessive inline.....my brain isnt thinking too well so i will have to get back to you later.

If you're at all interested in getting the ones you haven't played, look out for FFVI, which is widely considered as the best of the Nintendo (Now Ps1) FFs (if not the best in the series)... if in the US, you'll get it with FFV (good deal, but FFV is only hated less than FF2j by some), and you'll also be able to look out for FF:Tactics (which i'm sure Mourdor would recommend to you several times over :happy: )

Btw, "The one with Cecil" is FFIV :P

If you like RPG's, get Suikoden for the PSX. And also get Xenogears.

Must have for the PS2 is: Metal Gear Solid 2: Son's of Liberty.

FF Tactics Advance should effectivly be "FF Tactics 2" - its a completely different game, with only most of the core features of the original in it. at the risk of angering nintendo zealots, it's been "ninty-fied" in a way that makes all the characters younger, fresher faced and cuter ^_^. Gone is the religous and in depth diplomacy of the originals' storyline, which will doubtless annoy some die-hard FFT fans... but personally, i'd kill to get my hands on this game :evil: , so avoid getting pocession of it before I do... just be aware that europe never gets anything :laugh:

anyways, the bottom line is that should probably seek out FF Tactics... its getting gradually rarer as far as I can tell...

Well, I could certainly remark some of that list :D

PSX:
-MGS (hell, I'll repeat it, that game is something that everyone who considers him/herself as a gamer, MUST have, or at least play nad beat)
-All the RE's for PSX, definitely.
-Soul Reaver is an awsome game, unfortunately, it leaves you with a HUGE cliffhanger at the end and it's sequel (for PS2)sucks like hell.
-I'd say get ALL 3 Syphon Filter games.
-ALL the FF available for PSX.
-Tekken 3
-SF Alpha 3
-The Two Dino Crisis games.
-The Two Fear Effect games (man, this games are outstanding, trust me, OUTSTANDING!!! some of my favorite PSX games ever)
-And Parasite Eve I and II. Real nice games.

Those I just would not recommend, but consider as Must Have. This is the opinion, though, of a gamer who likes RPG's, action and adventure, and figting games over all. That's why you see I did not recommend a single racing or sports game. But wait... there's CTR!!! (Crash Team Racing) (and it was in MAkag's list :B) I really had lots of fun with that game.

Now I feel lazy for the PS2 games :P

Nah, I mean.....there are sooooo many more games on the systems, and those are the ones I think are worth playing atleast once! Just so that if he runs into any of those games, he can think about it.... :D

That's cool. I got a whole lot more game suggestions form here than I thought I would get. I am not a big fan of sports games and CTR was great! I used to be really good at it but since I haven't played in a long time I am not that good on it any more.
