ummm I tried it when I was 6 yrs old, then again when I was 10(I smoked for 2 months straight) but then I moved to US, and couldn't get smokes until I was, uhhh 14, from then on I was smoking more and more, now I'm 17, so I guess 1 full year+

Really ? And did you decide to quit from your own free will or did anyone else had anythin' to say it this 'Life changing' decision ?

Yeah, but you are better off smoking.
You know why, because you will be having headaches often (everyday).
Then your nerves will start to irritate you.
Either way you are screwed, but if those sideaffects come, better start smokin.

Congrats, it takes a lot of balls to get off of something like that. Keep it up. My lungs are shot because of the 16+ years of second-hand smoke from my dad and it really sucks. The sooner you get off, the better.

I am sorry to say this, but there is no such thing as second hand smoke!
The only way your lungs are shot because of something else.
Scientists, and medics found that out a year ago.
You might be smoking, but thats the only way.

Spirit
Feb 1st, 2002, 07:18 PM

Well, tell that to my lungs. I have never smoked or have done anything to my lungs and they are really bad. I don't have cancer or anything, and it's not asthma. I don't know what the hell is the problem.

Well I don't know.
Have you visited a really good doctor.
Man there is a lot of things it could be.!?

Spirit
Feb 1st, 2002, 07:35 PM
well you should probably consult a doctor, because this is a fairly seriour problem man, even more serious than mine :(

IcyMourdor
Feb 1st, 2002, 07:39 PM
I suppose I should. It could be something serious, but I very highly doubt it. It doesn't hurt, I just happen to lose my breath very easily.

Spirit

uhhh I think I need to rather limit myself than just quit at once.....blah

IcyMourdor

Did you go cold turkey? My dad tried that once, but it didn't work.

Spirit
Feb 2nd, 2002, 01:11 AM

GOOD FOR YOU MAN!!!!! I smoked for 14 years, and it's been 2 months now since I quit. It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Don't give up, if I can do it you can too!

Sleazy P Martini
Feb 2nd, 2002, 01:17 AM
BTW I used the patch.

Spirit
Feb 2nd, 2002, 01:25 AM
yea, I might have to do that too, but I don't know sometimes I like to smoke, you know?

Man there's nothing in this world that I'd like to do more right now that grab a coffee and spark up a smoke. But that's not gonna happen. I made a decision and I have to learn to cope. It won't be easy but the rewards are great. I already feel better health wise. I can take a really deep breath and not cough, I don't weeze when I breathe anymore. Smoking wrecks your insides.

Spirit
Feb 2nd, 2002, 03:13 AM
yea I know what you mean, man they say for every year of smoking you have to wait 2 for your lungs to regenerate and if you smoked past 10 years you can't regenerate them, but you can prevent them from dissipating

I hope you will never smoke again.
Thats just a bad thing to do.

I'm addicted to sugar. My breakfast usually consists of Mountain Dew and some M&M's.

Never give up chocolate!

Just limit yourself!

kamari-ice
Feb 3rd, 2002, 01:06 PM
No I will try to not stop eating chocolate.
But I traded it with another craving (weird craving) wheat crackers.
I can't stop eating them, its like pringles, once you eat one, you got to eat another one.

I tried to quit but it was somewhat unsuccesful. I managed not to for a month and a bit but then I had one, right around the time when the exam stress was really high.
I know exactly what you mean about wanting to have one every once in awhile.
I'm going to try to quit again, I think, but I don't know the best way to go about doing it.

Spirit
Feb 3rd, 2002, 03:58 PM
well, I think you should gow ith the patch/gum, since my 18 hrs of quitting have been destroyed....

I hate people who smoke. I've been living with second hand smoke since my days as a fedis in my mother. I have about thirteen or so relatives in my family who have died of cancer and my parents can't seem to get it through their skull that they should quit.

I can tell that my body is suffering from it. I used to be able to run full miles without effort. Now I pant to catch my breath when I run up the stairs. I'm not kidding.

I hate smoking and think that anyone who does smoke should quit.

Spirit
Feb 5th, 2002, 08:38 PM
well. it does seem bad, smoke that is, but they're banning it everywhere, in all the restaraunts, planes and other public places
