Did I screw something up?

I am on disk 3 of FF7, and I decided to wait until I defeated Ultima Weapon to go and get Vincent's final limit break and his utimate weapon. I went the waterfall and watched the little story sequence, and I walked out of the cave and went back inside, but there was nothing to obtain, and I've never had this problem before. Does anyone know if I will still be able to get Chaos and the Death Penalty?

Two things that could have gone wrong.

1. The items are to be picked up in the light. You can't see them, you just go into the light in the back and hit the button.

2. I think you need to see Lucrecia in the 2nd disk w/ Vincent in the party. Leave and return in Disk 3. Vincent must of course be in the party, then go into the light.

hmm, that must be the problem, I visited her for the first time in Disk 3, but I've done the same in most of the times that I've played through FF7 and I've never had this problem
