yeh this is a rubbish thread but, if you designed or already have the best multiplayer arena for quake 3, half life, unreal or whatever even games like red faction, what would you create it like?
like indoors, with lots of cover, futuristic level, forest ect.

question no. 2)and if you had to design a new set of characters
that you could play as, you know to a certain theme what would they be?

If I could design a UT map... it'd look a little bit like :This (http://hosted.barrysworld.net/theartist/projects/images/Spiral07md.jpg) and This (http://hosted.barrysworld.net/theartist/projects/images/Spiral08md.jpg) and This (http://hosted.barrysworld.net/theartist/projects/images/Spiral09md.jpg) and This (http://hosted.barrysworld.net/theartist/projects/images/Spiral09md.jpg).... Hey wait a minute... It does look that! ^_^

This is CTF-Spiralling Destiny, a UT Capture the Flag map thats supposedly set in a temple with a Spiralling centre. Shame I never finished it, but hey, UT2003 comes with a new version of Ued... sooo perhaps i'll get it finsihed one day...

the_artist , that's an excellent looking level, very orignal concept for one as well.

I always like the levels like overlord(UT),lava giant(UT),Warlords(Red Faction)where each team/player has a base. Another one i enjoyed was -November- the submarine hangar in Unreal Tournament. If i were to make one it would be a cross between the Overloard and November Levels w/ some outdoors enviroment thrown in.

thats a cool level art (umm.. how can i shorten your name?)
arti, artist, art, the,

any way...
i would have a level probably on several floors, not too wide or too open say three floors, all industrial, futuristic industrial though, abandond, like necromanda (if you know what that is), in a rough sqaure shape, ladders not ramps to get to the next level and plenty of hiding places, especially for sniping and plenty of cover on the ground floor. I would design a level like this, but im hopeless, sorry

Personally my next idea was always a Deathmatch level set around an Ion Cannon Frigate (Homeworld Ship.) Where you'd push a button and whoever was after the Damage Amp would get Fried ^_^

It'd have some kind of cool, industrial war-ship feel, with lots of clunking and a fair ammount of wires hanging in unsafe places...

I remember a level in Unreal tournament called =pressure=
a great deathmatch arena..it had several columns in a huge corridor. Very fun when getting in an intense gunfight there. Also there was a trap on that level as well. If i were to design a level it would have both the columns and the trap(of some sort) in it.

the levels in the upcomming ut2003 look awesome... I recently grabbed some videos of the in action, and they even have trees that move around in the wind pretty huh? ^_^ Another one appears a bit like ye-olde facing worlds with lots of bridges and some weird looking walls. But hell knows if it'll actually play any good

It would be indoors, inside Santa's Workshop and outdoors, the North Pole.

The character theme would be Christmas characters. Santa, Rudolph, Elves, Frosty, Jack Frost, The New Year's Baby, just to name a few.
