I have discovered it a few days ago and I keep on re-reading it.

Oh, simply wonderful! The narration grabs your attention from the start and the overall story is great. The drawings are simple and charming to me - I think a person might disregard it at first glance as being "childish" due to its simple design but I think it cleverly disguises what is actually a dark story; not to mention the dark color scheme. I love how the first 3 panels are a blood-rust color, tying in with the title. Page 7 is my favorite though and I think the effect can only be achieved on webpages where you must scroll down - talk about piquing your curiosity! Ingenious.

I do wonder if there's any significance with the lilac bush? Symbolism of any sort?
