Pick a couple that you've seen that you want others to avoid like the plague!

Hm, I can think of a couple :

• Ninja Resurrection : Man, the pain only stops after you turn of your TV. -_-
• Sword for Truth : Makes no sense; stupid plot; animation is terrible (hell, it's so bad they don't even bother to animate the fight scenes... yeah, the still picture just slides across the screen)
• M.D. Geist : ...
• Gokudo : It's not funny; annoying characters; god awful dub; it's not funny.
• Blood: The Last Vampire : I unfortunately purchased this; please don't make the same mistake
• Ghost in the Shell : It's eye candy... and that's all it is.

I agree....though I never seen "Ah! My Goddess", "Nadesico" was terrible...

"I, My, Me Strawberry Eggs!" isn't too bad, IMO. Though I agree there are a lot of "panty-shots" and the plot and story is mediocre, there are a lot worse "sport animes" out there.

My list:

Princess Minerva: Omg, this is just a stupid, stupid movie. Dumb heroine, ridiculous plot, terrible animation....ugh.

Onegai Teacher! (Please Teacher!): Sorry to all you fans, but this is completely just "fanservice" all the way. Sure, I didn't see episode 2, but from episode 1, the story just didn't appeal to me and from many pics that I've seen in magazines, the main character is just sex appeal.

Chobits: Okay, I admit...the story is interesting, the opening theme is pretty darn catchy, and Chii is cute...but again, didn't appeal to me at all and the main character (the guy, I forget his name) is all about reading porn and having "thoughts" in his head.

Ai Yori Aoshi (Bluer than Indigo): This series did seem appealing, but after realizing that all the main plot was, was about this girl who wanted to find her childhood friend to marry him...uh...I'm wondering how far one can go with that? And she already found him in the first episode...

DigiCharat: If you don't get annoyed by the first 5 minutes of watching any of the episodes, then I admire you for having that much tolerance for those noisy, annoying, colorful girls.

Maze: The TV: Yes, "Maze" is the title. The movie was okay, but the TV series is kinda more ecchi and to see the main character turn from a girl to a perverted guy over and over...it starts getting tiring.

Hmm...there are probably more, but these are the only ones I can think of now.

American Silor Moon, if the actual japanese version is better like I hear then I can't judge it unless I were to see it. Pokemon's really bad, and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Bloodlust because it seemed to get drawn out towards the end, but I guess you could always stop it when it gets too drawn out and watch it later.

Apart from Blue Submarine, which I don't like especially for the massive usage of CGI (I told that many times), the others are mainly series for younger audiences. Not that this is the reason I don't like them, in fact I can also like shows that are not for "mature" people. But these ones are particularly bad from many points of view: animation, story, characters. And their stupidity is just unbearable! For those who mentioned Pokemon: trust me, Pokemon is a lot better than these series...

For this series I could repeat what you said about DigiCharat. The only thing this series is about is cuteness. And exaggerated cuteness becomes annoying

I also thought that ghost in the shell was an excellent movie, and i can't wait for the series.

I also personally love this series. It's become one of my favs actually.

With what meryl said about ai yori aoshi, i completely agree. I was also going to buy this series, then i got a glimps of it, read up on it a bit more as well. Turned out to be a total dissapointment. The deep characters and story fell and became a silly, immature fan service anime. Was a huge let down.

Some of my own personal let downs were...

Saiyiki. an anime that tried to be an action, sci fi, comedy, but just turned out to be a poorly done shonen, unable to develop a real story or plot, with bland, unoriginal characters.

Blue Gender. It made me want to puke, finding out that this show is going to air on Adult Swim aug 25th. The animation is absolutly terrible, which usually never really bothers me, but in this one it did a lot. The characters, again, very unoriginal, and the story is predictable. The main character is annoying, and the dubs are *B-A-D* The mechas are stupid, they run around on wheeles for pete sakes. I strongly recommend you not seeing this one.

Tenchi in Tokyo. I'm sure that most people here have seen at least one episode of this show. Enough said. They should have stopped after tenchi universe.

Mobile Suit Gundam War in The Pocket. 6 episodes of boredom. To me, this was the worst Gundam series. But i also happen to enjoy Gundam Wing, so deside on your own.

I agree here. I bought this one when I first got into anime expecting to get my socks knocked off. >_>

Ghosts.. imprinting in the brain. Right.

Main character likes to toy with death by diving. Right.

She's also possessed. Right.

Very bad singing. Right.

Intragovernmental conspiracies by different 'sections', right.

Main character stupid enough to rip own arms off trying to disable tank. Right.

Blah blah. Watch this one with the mute button on and surfing the net in the foreground.

Other warnings- Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, other kiddeme'. This is what drags anime's name down, guys.

DragonBall Z. Goku & Associates struggle to defeat strongest being in the universe. *counts* Five times, I think. Once "power levels" get up into the tens of millions it gets a little silly. And FUNimation's dubs/translations/pronounciations/dialoge modifications? Utter crap.

Tenchi In Tokyo- Killed. The. Series. *shakes fist*

Neon Genesis Evangelion (last couple of episodes + "movies")- The series is absolutely great up until the last "real" angel is destroyed, I believe. Then it devolves into a too-feckin'-philosophical-for-its-own-good overly depressing crapfest. The creator's a crazy wanker who shouldn't be allowed out of his box without heavy meds, and never be allowed fanmail since he apparently can't handle anything negative without further b0rking his previous work.

Blue Seed- ...WTF?? O_o!

Bubblegum Crisis- *hands it some juicy fruit so it will go away*

Macross (that I've seen. Besides Macross Plus, which rules)- Evil aliens defeated by various modifications of idol singers. In one case the enemy brought their own idol singers and they turned against said enemy. ... do I really have to say more?

Gundam Wing- Imagine giving the backstreet boys Mecha. Then giving another one to David Bowie and calling him Zechs.

(Taurus suits, for being so bloody expensive and ultra-high-tech, seem to be the ONLY things remotely viable later on in the series, and are destroyed in droves. Apparently humanity has discovered unlimited ore deposits.)

Cool Devices (bought third hand, copied tape with name written in pen. As in "Cool Devices/Anime" written in blue ink on a blanktape label)- THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPYING OR GADGETS OF ANY SORT!!!!!!!!!

Now, for less virulent warnings.

Ruroni Kenshin- This is a monetary warning! There are a LOT of DVD's to buy, and you WILL be buying them all once you start. JU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Gunsmith Cats- BuildupbuildupbuildupCLIMAXeasedowneasedownANOTHER CLIMAXend.

It's also too short for there being so much effort and research put into it. But that's the only other gripe.

I actually enjoyed Gensomaden Saiyuki a lot. *gets shot down*

Saiyuki really isn't a sci-fi because it is based on the ancient Chinese tale of the Monkey King, but with Kazuya-sensei's twist, he varied it according to his tastes. That probably explained a lot of almost "sci-fi" parts that you see in there. Ah, well....this series mainly appeals to girls so...

I just remembered another one:

Midnight Panther: This movie completely fools you into thinking it's just a normal anime and there is no warnings whatsoever that tells anyone that it's actually a near hentai. It's such a dumb plot and it's actually really quite mentally disturbing at the end.

EDIT: I just remembered another series:

Sakura Diaries: Oh man, I have no idea what compelled me to watch the entire series, but I did and regret it. Let's just say the fanservice in here reminds me of Onegai Teacher! and others. The plot is just another shoujo story, but it comes together ridiculously and the dubbing was just terrible. Avoid this series like DigiCharat!!

Might be some Eva Spoliers here for the last episodes and the movies, so If you havent read them I urge you skip the next paragraph.

Eva did get a little fruity after the 17th angel, but not in a really bad way though, its frustrating because its so hard to comprehend what it all means, if it has a meaning. And apparently the creator got Death Threats to create the Eva Movies! But it also said he was going to make them anyways. But if the ending was simple as the 17th Angel being killed and thats the end, no secret plots and no apocalypses, it wouldn't be much of a climax.



I thought Akira was kinda shitty, behind all the hypes, it's merely a animation with good animation (for its time) with a crap storyline. I mean, when Kaneda was getting told about Akira by that chick, Kay or something she was called, why exactly did he get so surprised when she said "imagine an amoeba with the powers of a human", then Kaneda screams "You Mean Tetsuo has those kinds of powers!!" What powers, the powers of Mitosis! The powers of a human being, that scene was total crap, If youve seen it you'll probably agree. Although Akira was not that bad, I want to read the manga though but I cant.

Vampire Hunter D was good, but It really didnt explain anything about why D did what he did. Maybe he dislikes Vampires, but is that what fuels his slaughter of vampires, a mere dis-like? If maybe he had some bad memories or flashbacks with, say his father, maybe it'd explain why he kills vampires. But the movie is really just an action movie, and isn't deep.

I can't really think of an anime that was so crap you shuldnt see it at all, maybe Golgo 13 is though. Its really just action, but the CG is so pathetic I was pissing myself laughing at it, I know its old, and that was the best back then perhaps, but it looks so shite!
