I Have A Thought!!
Wouldnt it be so kool if final fantasy 8 was made into a well ace movie. I'm sure it was made as an 'interactive movie' but thats my opinion. Do any of you guys think its a kool idea and any other ideas please feel free to tell me them. By the way if there is anything you wish to tell me in private (hopefully not) my e-mail addy is [email protected] ^_^

That would be awsome. I also think they should make a movie for every final fantasy.

Its hard to say whether it would make a good movie. Not really sure where they could go after that. It'd be kinda pointless to make a movie of the actual game, so they'd have to make a prequel or sequel to the game.
Actually, a movie about the adventures of Laguna, Kiros, and Ward would be pretty cool.

Well hey, if they're making "Final Fantasy: Advent Children", anything is possible. But, I think many would rule out FFVIII for a movie because a lot of people hated this game with a passion.

A lot of people hated it because of the Junction system. The problem with the Junction system wasn't that it was crap, or difficult to understand, but just that the tutorials on it were lengthy, boring and frankly pretty confusing really. I actually think that the junctioning of magic was a neat idea... It's sad it had to go really. Beyond that, some people weren't taken with the story... I think the whole Psuedo-Futuristic world coupled with the sorcerresses and such things just wasn't appealing to many people. FF8 was blessed in that it didn't have voices mind you: Imagine the cliched. horrid voice that Selphie would be given... and Rinoa tended to be enough of a drip without a voice-actress to mess up the role.
Generally, I think FF7 attracted a lot of people to the series that it wouldn't have usually... It was far more "Final Sci-Fi" than any of the other games, and that appealed to a wider "I dislike too much beardy weirdy stuff" crowd. FF8 just didn't cater for these people enough...

hey, when i started playing rpg's the one from ff series i heard the most was ff8. and i still believe honestly that not that few ppl enjoyed it more than the rest. i may not be ppl's fav, but saying that everyone or most of ppl hated it just doesnt make sense.. anyways, i know i have no authority here and besides thats just ur opinion on it, but it still makes me wanna break (or bite :[ ) ur neck xD (jking) peace lol

Please tell me of any other FF game that penalises you for using magic? You see, you have to junction magic to your stats and the more casts you have, the stronger that stats becomes. So if you then use that magic in battle, your stats drop.... See? Totally counter-productive. For me, FFVIII became nothing more than a series of magic-less battles - not very FF to me! Of course, different strokes for different folks and all that! - S

I agree with Spank-a-thon. The fact you had to avoid using magic and a big boss fight would mean that the next half an hour was taken up with replacing the magic you'd just used.
Materia all the way kids.

Well yes, Materia was certainly the better... I just thought that Junctioning was interesting and it was nice to see them trying something different for a change. The whole "Equip and Learn" thing seen in most FFs has really lost it's appeal to me, even in some of its more interesting guises (Materia and Jobs). Junctioning was far from perfect, but I think it was an idea that could have been refined and expanded on for a later game. I personally never really had a problem with using junctioned magic. Surely you can't use that much of any one magic in any one boss battle to significantly harm your stats? Besides, FF8 was more of a Limit Break and GF game towards the end...
Oh and "worst FF System" is surely something that many would pin on FF2. Didn't you have to get into battles and deliberately take damage if you wanted to improve you HP?

That's a unique weapon to use, and it takes two favored weapons and
turns it into a thing of beauty... Why didn't I think of that??
