HD-DVD vs Blu-ray

As you already know Toshiba has thrown in the towel, so Blu-ray is the winner. What do you think will be the consequences in the long run for the 360(if there will be any)?

I don't care either ways, I don't own a 360

It's all companies strategies. they decide all by themselves, the best isn't always the winner.

I don't think this will affect the Xbox360 much, mainly because the install base is so huge and that the games are still put on regular DVD. Sales will probably begin to drop due to people who were holding back on HD media will move to the PS3 as a cheaper Blu-ray-player-and-game-machine combo. Though, people who bought into the external HD-DVD drive attachment are probably kicking themselves for wasting that ~$125.

I just got myself an HD-DVD, as it was going for $49.99 and I had a $10 giftcard from BestBuy, so why not.

I have entered the Hi-Def zone, the movie image is amazing. I know that format is pretty much dead and soon no movies will come out on it, whatever is in the market will go really cheap and so thats why I got that. Plus, I will not have to play my DVDs and all on my XBOX 360 anymore.

I will be getting a PS3 for sure on JUNE 12th 2008, so Blu-Ray is always heading my way. I personally do prefer Blu-Ray, but for $39.99 an HD-DVD player...I am all in.
