I know for many people it is a bit, well more than bit, early to talk about Final Fantasy XIII since Final Fantasy XII has not been given an official release date. Based on speculation, what do you think that the next installment, after FFXII of course, will be like? Do you think it is going to be purely online? Maybe a new direction in the series that might take a turn for the worst or best? Or just maybe Final Fantasy XIII will never see the light of day.
(Speculation can be posted here until information on this game is released, then this thread can be used for posting factual information.)

I think it'll be both online and singleplayer. In contrast to other FF games, it'll be all in modern day warfare. In it, one will discover a world torn apart like what happened in WWII. Then the moogles will be the Russian counterpart because they're our allies, but once the war is over, they'll stop being so cute and be the enemy. ph33r the /\/\00gle5!!!!!1

hmm im wondering whether there will even be a FF13. If they do make a new one it will probably suck . In my opinion all the Final Fantasy games produced by Square Enix have changed FF for the worst. First X-2 not staying true to the series by making a new a "part two". Then XI you run around with one person all willy nilly killin monsters. Then XII where you only control one of the characters in battle and the others have A.I. I dont like any of this stuff. Does anyone agree with me?

It's my opinion that the series was getting stale. I hate FFX, though it has more in common with the old FFs than the rest of the PS2 series. Change in this case is good; I look forward to FFXII more than i've looked forward to X-2 or XI.

FFXIII won't be talked about until the PS3 is announced. I think that's kind of elementary. I reckon there will be one, and it'll probably be a "play it safe" Single Player that doesn't change the gameplay of FFXII all that much (unless that Gameplay comes out and really does suck, in which case I don't know).

The characters? The main will be a late-teens male with a stupid hair-cut who is looking out for a "holy and pure" female with supposed leadership skills yet still the capacity to become utterly useless when the hero does his macho thing. The supporting cast will involve: One skilled (possibly legendary) "cool" swordsman character, One "oddball/goofy" character and One "animal" character. No matter how big the cast of characters is, there will only be three female characters and you'll want to slap them all around the face for being so mind-boggling shallow. Square-Enix-US will ensure that we all get the awful voice acting that we deserve, and the european release will come 3/4s of a year later with black borders 6 inches high on the top and bottom of the screen.

Doesn't FFXII take place once again in Ivilace like in tactics and tactics advance? Cant they think of any thing better? And this animal you speak of is called "Viera" a rabbit-like human from Tactics advance. And i too dislike FFX. But at least it is normal like 1-9.
