1. As far as i'm aware, we've not even been given a "rough" release date (recently) for the US. For us (those in the UK / Europe) we definatly don't have one

2. Hmm... i'm not sure at all what this feature was within EQOA (i'm not even totally sure what the last two letters in that acronym stand for ), but i've heard of nothing that actually links the card game - tetra master - with the FFXI world. So I assume "no"

Sorry if you know, but I just have to explain incase you dont, game cards cost the same as the monthly fee and they last you 30 days, its really for people who dont have acess to credit card, just pick them up at your local store. Thanks for answering my previous questions.

oh right *kicks self for making same "card" mistake for a second time* hehe... basically, I don't know... as mentioned somewhere in the FF forum, (don't know where :/) there were FFXI "Credit Cards" that gave you the oportunity to get exclusive merhcandise or somthing... The exact payment methods for out of Japan are anything but finalised, so who knows? maybe, maybe not... time will tell me supposes

They may not be able to do the game cards for FFXI, because it may be hard to get the other things in, such as Artist said, the tetra master game. I'm still trying to figure out, how they are going to get the HDD working. I hope they figure it out soon.

Does anyone have a idea what the monthly fee is for FF11?

after some searching: https://www.rpgfan.com/news/2002/1223.html

so thats:
$9.98 [£6.0878] for each month of play

and $0.78 [£0.4758] for each character you create, after your first, per month... not truely so bad if you ask me, but don't expect those prices when it gets outside of japan... they're hardly "nice round prices" are they

I would pay $9.98 [£6.0878] a month, for a MMORPG, not bad, but You turned dollers into out money, but I bet the price ends up being even more expensive than any other country as usual!

there is that danger yes, but I'm pretty sure that people would have somthing to say about that... it may come down to taxes or somthing... but I reckon £7.50 should be the maximum. Should be.

extra characters. your monthly charge pays for one character already. I think that two characters are seriously as many as anyone should have, and that one is perfectly all right: the job and class systems provide enough customisation so you could effectivly "start again", simply by accepting a quest for a different class / job (with the bonus that you can always go back to your more leveled job later if you change your mind). The only thing you can't change is your race, so you've got to decide on one that you'll stick with. I'll be a tarataru

Ok thanks for answering, one more question

Do you have clans/guilds like in EQOA?

not sure how they work in that, but its possible to organise people into an extended clan, and communicate with them using the features that FFXI gives you: you'll have some kind of special contact "stones" for the people you want to give them to... but tbh, theres not exactly much on the clan/guild side of FFXI out there... I know that they do exist however: i've heard a few clan names thrown around, and there does seem to be a war over the overuse of "crimson" as a title

hmm, if you meant "guilds" as in learning certain types of craft, there are numerous job skills thingies you can sign up for in FFXI... stuff like fishing, sewing, tanning etc.

I believe he was asking about the kind of guild where real people can join others with a common cause. Or something like that.

Yes, there is Guilds in FFXI, and most likely should have a buddy list. And most make your own guild, its about 5600 gil, and gil is rare, have to loot alot, and sell, then comes the link pearls, you get about 32 pearls to choose people in a guild, or alliance. Best thing about this is, you can have 6 party members then 4 in everquest. And the item selections.

Even better, it is possible to ally up to 3 roaming parties, so that you technically have a party of 18... I'm not totally sure how this works, but it is presumeably useful for taking down the biggest enemies

In ff11 is it people fighting people? Or teaming up to fight other creatures?

I think it might be both. I forgot if there are alignments or not, is there?

there is no PvP in FFXI. I wouldn't rule it out entirely, but I do feel that uncontrolled PvP is the tool of idiots in every MMORPG that supports it. There could at least be some kind of Battle Arena for that type of thing though, but Monsters are generally the order of the day.

As far as I know, there are no "alignments" as in "Good", "Bad", "Neutral" etc. However, you do start in any one of the countries of Vana'diel and can align yourself to the different Countries by doing work, and claiming terriotories for your country. Or at least its somthing like that: I haven't heard to much on that side of things.

I read about this game, and it is 5 times better than EQOA. I like it more because of the transportation. But the thing I like the most, is that you can own a shop.
