New Computer

I'm about to get a new computer pc, and I'm goin to get pne in Costco. What brand do you recommend? Hewlett Packard, Sony, or Compaq? I'm was willing (sp?) to spend $1500 (without including tax yet until the checkout line).

Whilst this would possibly get you the best money could buy, at a better price, it would require a fair bit of research. But then its only as much as the ammount of research you should be doing to find a better PC from those which you name: DO NOT go shopping for a PC based on their names. Go with a good idea of what is inside that computer instead...

as for details of what graphics card / processor / motherboard and whatever else... I can't help. Because I've not brought PC parts in a while and i'm essentially clueless.

I've seen that Sony has their VAIO with pretty much those specs. The PC I used to have at home (till I left) had basically those characteristics, except that the processor wasn't as fast. (oh, and I don't remember exactly which video car it had, but it could run pretty much ABSOLUTELY anything I would install on it)

I'm still in the doubt of building one of my own or just getting another VAIO or maybe a Dell, the problem right now is that I'm broke :B

The Sony Vaio is the way to go if you are going to spend that much. I looked around at Best Buy today and those are about the same specs. I think it only came with 60 GB of Hard Drive space though. But I think for $200.00 more you could get 2-3x as much. Plus it comes with nice speakers and a cd burner.

Plus the 15 inch flatscreen is the best price out of the name brand ones.
