I heard that it is open-ended. Is there going to be a third movie?

Yes, there is. The ending of this one is a cliffhanger and even then this movie and the third one were filmed back to back (the third one is still being filmed though) so it will be coming sooner then you think. The third one from what I heard is coming out on memorial day 2007, still its a rumor on the internet so take it with a grain of salt.

I saw it yesterday with the family and thought it was fantastic, everyone else thought the first one was better but I found myself enjoying this more. I liked the darker theme that was going on and I thought the story was more enjoyable. But both are great films, I'll be picking this up on DVD on day one if I have the money.

Edit: I also enjoyed this more because the two pirates Pintel and Ragetti (Pintel is the one that called Keira Knightley poppet in the first one and Ragetti has the glass eye if their names don't ring a bell.) I really liked them from the first film and they had alot more screen time this time around so that was a really big plus for me.

movie was just way too long

whatever happened to makin things at "just the right time"? I would have enjoye dit better if it were curbed a little, especailly since part 3 is comin out as well

I hate Orlando Bloom! I won't be seeing it! It'd be a fun movie, with Johnny Depp only!

I agree w/ hylas.. i hate bloom.. but my overpowering love for J depp made me go.. twice... long as hell... open ended... but i adore it.. because i am in fact.... a pirate

It seems that games about Pirates are becoming popular, like Pirates of the Burning Sea, Tales of Pirates, both of which are in the list of top upcoming.
