Ok I have a huge problem,
Yesterday when I tried to go on my computer it wouldn't work, It starts up but when it gets to the desktop, there's no start bar at the bottom, and no desktop icons show up the page is just blank apart from the wallapaper image...and If I click Ctrl+Alt+Del theres no programs in that box.. nothing at all...I tried loading it in Safemode but it was just the same, Im guessing it's a virus and we'll have to send it off to get it fixed but just incase it's not and it's something simple I can fix I just thought I better ask.
So if this has happened to you or you know what it is let me know please.
And also if you know what virus it might possibly be that would be helpful too.

yup, sounds like a total screw-up. I've had the exact same thing more times than I care to remember, and i've only ever remedied it wiping the Hard Disks and reinstalling windows (though doing the later may have been enough on its own)...

If you feel brave, you could try reinstalling windows (or in fact, you could try installing a completely different version - its always good to have an OS to fall back on when one goes wrong), if only to back-up all your important files. I'm not sure what computer repair people do when the only option may be to get rid of everything on the drive and start again.
