I agree mostly with what Fortune said about sequels. A sequel is awsome whenever it has been born at the same time the prequel was. Otherwise they usually turn outto be pretty shitty.

But only one thing: Do you actually know for a fact that FFX's sequel was not planned from the beginning? I'm just asking as I do not know.

Maybe I used a wrong term. With the words "from the beginning" I imagined something like Star Wars movies. When the first movie, episode IV, came out, people didn't know there were other 5 movies still waiting to be made and released, ok? But now that you know it, you can see the project was including at least 6 movies from the beginning. The story necessarily needs the other movies. Another example, speaking only about videogames, is Metal Gear Solid. Maybe they haven't clearly planned the game as they are from the beginning, but the project is very different from FFX one. There's not Metal Gear Solid 2 only because fans wanted it or because the company needs money... the creator of they game thought his saga planning to make the sequel. On the other hand, FFX was, like other FF games, more like a single episode. The fact there's some space for guessing there could be something happening besides FFX story, doesn't mean there MUST be a sequel. If so, nearly any other game ever made could have a sequel It sounds to me more like if Square knew this was the most "successful" game of the series. The one people liked the most, also non-typical ff fans, because of many reasons I won't explain here again, and said "Ok, this one will have a sequel". If it was planned from the beginning or not, it's not important.

I understood what you meant from the beginning. My question is, what if the sequel was actually planed from a beginning as well, focused mainly in Yuna, -from the very beginning- and maybe FFX was just the first chapter in her life? To tell you the truth, I hated FFX's ending, but I can't say I'm happy with the way they are directing the sequel. I agree with all what you have said, but I think I can not say anything yet about this sequel, as none of us has played it yet. I'll say it royally sucks/is freaking badass when the time comes.

This comment may sound stupid for you, but only looking at the Yuna of the sequel and comparing her to the Yuna of the original game I say: they're going mad... the two characters they called "Yuna" have not much in common apart from the name.

Im trading in my copy of FFX tomorrow for a down payment on Rygar. I played only 20 hours of it, but it doesnt sound like i will need to know the story anyways since the characters are clearly different in FFX2....

FF 10 was a great game. I liked 7 the best but 10 was good too. I think it would be cool to go back and see all the places in FF 10 again as Yuna. I think FF X-2 is a must have for any one that played 10. It looks awsome.

hey in the link thats above it says you can change costumes!?!?!?!?!?!.......mabye the slutty look is just a bonus costume or something (they say you can change outfits like you could equipment in the middle of battle!!!!!!!!)

Yeah, each Grandia game doesn't have anything to do story wise with eachother, except for this one game only released in Japan for the GBC that has the characters from the first Grandia game in it.

I can try to explain that, after battle I read the characters go back to their original costumes, meaning you'd be seeing the one for Yuna that Makg was referring to I believe for the most part and the one Rikku has on in that picture.

The Yuna and Rikku are the same person they were in FFX, they just have different clothes than before.

I don't care, I think they look cool in FFX-2 and I have already decided to get it.
