hmm... so the poster wasn't a fake.

At least the famitsu pictures and www.gameforms.com 's analysis clear things up: with just the poster to go by I was quick to judge it as somthing very very worrying... but It does look a lot more intriguing now: I'm still a little against the costume a little, but then It certianly looks more Al-Bhed-ish in the game and a teeny bit close to her original form: but the guns, and platforming elements? very tomb raider (and to me, that is a very very bad thing)

I do find the inclusion of a good ol' amano logo ver comforting though - at least that looks mega-cool... and finally - a female lead! (and two females by default to boot! go girl-power!)

The best thing FFX had going for it was graphics. Compared to 7, 8, & 9......it falls flat on its face. Why....of all the FF's out there did they go with X to make a sequel......*grumbles*

Agreed. I don't think I will be getting this one. FFX is the game from the series I liked less. The idea of a sequel is terrible IMO, and Yuna looks hot maybe, but not very Yuna-ish from the pics. Square is trying to make easy money, it seems...

EDIT: and speaking of a female main character, it'd be cool to have one in the next FF games, just to add some variety, but Yuna is not my ideal of main character either...

I thought X was much better than 8...the sphere system was quick and easy compared to junctioning. And the characters in X are so much better than 8's. They're so much more diverse and each of them have their own detailed backrounds and what not. While 8's characters were just...well....dull. And plus X's battle system was a cool change that gave an extra dose of strategy.

I'm looking forward to this and lets just pray we see...

9 had it's own unique style(a farewell of sorts to the past FF's)..i thought it was pretty good. Back to the topic though..

I hope they won't ruin the game with a sequel, because it happens sometimes that to make a new game based on the same characters, they ruin the atmosphere and the ideas they put in the previous game.

Sorry pal, X was "reel purty lookin", but IX dominated when it came to gameplay. BTW, I don't hate X....just some things about it

1. Same type of enemies (EVERYWHERE...they just change color)

2. Follow path A to path B...then path C...fight monster D. Much less freedom that previous versions.

3. Airship...or lack thereof I should say.

4. Cheesy one liners during battle eg - icing on the cake, oopsy, and yes Auron...we know...."thats how its done". theres no need to remind me every single battle.

Oh dear oh dear... An FF sequal, well I knew this day would come I guess but I am still dead againts it and the fact its a Tomb Raider-esque game!? Dreadfull idea.

I don't particuarly hate X... nor would I say its the worst: Mystic Quest, 1 and 2 are games that i'd consider below, for instance... but aside from MQ, I can't honestly say there has been a truely bad FF.

X did have its good points for me, aside from the graphics... the highlight would be a hero who doesn't have a "stupid user-controlled psych-out that benefits the enemy, and makes the player feel detached-episode" just because "the truth" isn't particuarly desireable. (Spotlight on Cloud Strife)...

But seriously, I think i'll try to enjoy this on the basis that X was far from flawless... who knows, we may even get good voice-acting! (IF it is released...)

Oh and though its seems natural to bash a game called "Final Fantasy XI" , I take it you mean "IX"? (which I rate as the third best of the games anyways...)

remember - when Squaresoft are really short on ideas... expect to see Mystic Quest 2 in Famitsu :/

Indeed FFX is the best looking RPG I have ever played, and the voice over, an awsome feautre as well (and having in mind previous FF did not have this)

#1: WTF, the same thing happened in previous FF's, I don't see a point on pointing out this

#2: unfortunately that's true, although people make a big deal out of this, the game was enjoyable anyways

#3: I have to 100% agree with you on this, that really sucked, best world map and airship thing was in FFIX IMO

#4: At least they began something completely new and fun. It's unfortunate that they did not go deeper on this, and the variety of lines was not wider. But I always enjoyed how Auron reminded us all how is it done


But I don't know about this sequel..... Yuna's new outfit really makes her look like a slutt and guns don't really go along with her... :\ that would suit Rikku ten times better.

I will be probably be getting this game anyways, FF's can be the same s*** always, but that same s*** is what I like about them, so I'll probably be getting this one.

Although I still can not understand why the hell haven't they made a remake of the old FF's, but with FFX's graphical and musical quality. That would be "easy" money for squaresoft, and mostly everyone would buy them, I think. Unless you (talking in general) are one of those who don't believe in anything else but storyline and plot even if teh game sucks hard **** graphically.

How can you say this? the enemies in 7, 8, and 9 were much more diverse than in 10. There was always a set of 3 in FFX, one for a certain members abilities....and they were quite similar from region to region. They just changed color/attributes, and got stronger.

FFX had a good story going but its the gameplay that made it weaker than others. Battle system was cool. Only thing is you had to wait till the end of the game to be able to start the sidequests and minigames. The sequel should go to FF7. That is the best one.

I dont think this is such a bad idea. I mean FFX was good it was better then FF9. now I know what you people are going to say

I think that FF9 sucked I mean they were all short and they looked like rats.

anyways I think that you guys should give more credit to FFX because i think that was one of the best rpg's for the ps2.
and I do think that yuna will look good with guns maybe their is a reason for that. will just have to wait and see

I'm kind of not sure what to think of this, if it is a bad or good idea to have a FFX sequeal?
Personally I wouldn't say FFX is the worst FF ever made, it had its good parts in it.

Maybe in FFX-2 they'll improve on things which the original one was lacking on, I guess will have to wait and see what happens.
