Best music...what country?
Well, i had to put a short title...and it came out wrong
Well heres a brief: Most of you listen to music, and those of you who do...dont always know which country your band is from...or what kind of country is the one you listen the most music from. Like ME for example, i recently found out, i listen to a lot of English bands (U2, Robbie Williams.. etc..). Another example: lets say you listen to a lot of Treble Charger, Gob, Sum 41, finger eleven; then you listen to most music from Canadian artists. So...post the country you listen the most music from. |

I usually listen to anything European. Nothing from the States has ever particuarly grabbed me to the point where i'd actually go out and buy their music... but then my entire brought collection of music is limited to... um Faithless and Royksopp. So thats two bands. One from Norway, one from the UK.

Actually Blindman, U2 is not English. It's Irish. And also, there's some slight difference between British (which includes also Scottish, Welsh, part of Irish and English itself) and English music. Just to point that out...
I mostly listen to European bands, especially British with some Scandinavian, but some American music is good too. As for classical, German/Austrian is the best |

I guess English... because David Bowie takes up about 80% of what I listen to; and another 10% is the Beatles. The rest is just whatever songs I happen to like.

I listen to music from any country with music worth listening to I suppose.
The greater part of my collection is North American and European however. |

I agree with Reid, i just listen to whatever catches my ears attention. Most of it is american, followed by japanese i guess. I also heard a lot of cool music from a few russian artists, and stuff from Jerusalem is also really cool. few Canadian and Spanish songs are also cool. Like the Latina stuff i was always able to beat my feat to. I also like the emotion kinda music, from tribes from africa, america, and wherever else. So i guess i have no real preference in music as in what country it's from, but most iof it comes from America and japan, which is what most of my musical collection consists of.

I can't narrow it down to a country, but the best music definitely comes out of Europe. I love European metal, mostly from Scandinavia, and British rock and techno is great, and then the oddballs like Bjork!

This is kinda of a weird question because it attempts to categorize what you listen to in a kind of a strange way that I don't think makes much sense. Usually when you talk about different types of music that you like you refer to them as being originally from certain regions of the world more than any particular country because it does not stop at their borders. Also, musicians can be influenced by musicians from a completely different part of the world. Anywayz, I don't really think in terms of countries a band is from as much as I used to. If certain bands I listen to tend to be from around that area of the world its 1. because of their sound and style and 2. it's because of the availability of it. I'm not a huge person with downloading things off the net and I don't live in the city which is why I don't have as much ethnic music in my collection, but I do love all kinds of that stuff. I did grow up listening to a fair amount of latin music, though.
Anywayz... what was I talking about again? My head is doing circles...why does this always happen? Whoa...I managed to rant about the subject of this thread for that long without answering the question I almost feel diabolical _RED_ stuff

I don't know much the music from some areas of the world, but I can say I mostly listen to British music, with some American. There are other bands/singers that are not British or American, but they mostly write their songs in English language (like the above mentioned Bjork and many others). So I don't know if the country in that case counts. Of course the style of French or Scandinavian or German music is different, but if the musicians decide to not write in their own languages, that influences the style as well.
Sometimes I listen to some Japanese music too, but I can't say my fave music comes from there |

I listen to Japanese music mostly. I'm trying to listen to more different bands, but it's hard especially since each CD costs $40-45 dollars. I listen to some US music at times.
