What do you guys think? It's suppose to put the driver-series back on the gaming map after the horrible Driv3r, but I played a demo and the whole thing didn't excite me. Anyone else got an opinion on it?

meh, they're making another one, cant say im excited after their much hyped Driv3r completely blew up in their faces.

Agreed, but they should of learned from that don't they? If they screw up this the driver-name is down the drain....for good.

They have really improved the series giving it a more 'GTA" feel to it. Cars handle better, and don't have those "random" physics like in Driv3r (You know...the ol hit a jump, land on your roof deal). They also can be upgraded and stored in your garage. The only thing I dislike is the auto aim, which will target a ped across the street when a cop is shooting you to your left. There is a manual aim which does compensate a lot for it. Graphics are beautiful (for 5 year old hardware) and the frame rate is smooth. Personally I really enjoy it.

I rented this. I know this may sound strange to most, but I think I actually enjoyed Driver 3 more. It may have had a lot of things wrong with it, but it wasn't all bad in my mind. Of course I didn't get far in Parellel Lines. I think the series is just finally showing its age to me. There are not enough new innovations based on the once tried and true formula of the series in the gameplay to keep it alive and fresh. It's possible that in the right hands this series could have survived and that's what makes it more sad and dissapointing to me.

Oh yes, I have some VERY fond memories of Driver 1 and 2. I have always been a big fan of the whole seventies car chase film type thing. Also the attitude of blacksploitation flicks and the like. To me that made the first 2 games feel very nostalgaic in many ways. It had attitude and hours worth of gameplay that I could not get tired of. When I first played the Driver series, it was like my chance to live out those types of films. I was also very found of the film-making feature that they had and would spend hours just fine tuning the replays of my chases. I was, in many ways, that series' number one fan. I cannot even begin to express my overall dissapointment of the PS2 entries in the series. It had the potential of being something like Midnight Club 3 except with REALISTIC driving physics. Something like that would keep me entertained for hours on end!
Sadly, Reflections is not that intuitive and in touch with what the gamers want. Perhaps a new company will come along and tap into this idea with endless potential and do it right with a brand new franchise. One can only hope that the appeal for such a game is realized still.
