I got a teaching Job in ENGLAND!!!
Hey guys,
Sorry for not posting here much, i have been real busy trying to get a job overseas and I was finally able to get one. I will be teaching in Caterham which from what i read is apart of Surrey or South London. Sorry if I got that wrong, im learning as quick as I can. I will be moving there in August and will be there for at least 1 year. Hopfully im close to some of my old pals here on PS2Fantasy. Plus ill be doing a lot of traveling there so any pointers or you want to be a tour guide let me know! I promise to be around alot more now that my life is starting to have a direction again. BTW Harry, Carlito, Panuru great job on the site it looks great! And to the rest of my old buds, Hello to all of you, Piggle, Goodman, how goes it? Anyway Ill be around a little more now, just wanted to pass on my news.

Congrats dude, when you're in london maybe you'll be interested in doing one of those english drinking tours to Amsterdamn and I'll see you around
Enjoy your stay in London and make sure you visit a football match by Arsenal, Tottenham, Millwall etc. etc.

Thanks guys, I know I can't wait to go. Going to be a little scary at first, but should be great. I am really looking forward to travelling. There is so much in such a small area compared to canada and With all the time off I get as a teacher, its really exciting.
Thanks again for the nice words. PS Piggle I returned your email.

That's wonderful news! Congratulations on getting a job over in England...must be a bit frightening to move to a new place (let alone, country), so I wish you the best of luck on everything!

Congrats, Moo! Didnt know if you mentioned it or not, but out of curiosity, what will you be teaching? I know this will be a tremendous experience for you, so have a blast, and be sure to keep your sanctity, those English girls are quite an item to behold...

Equivilent of Grade 7 and 8? O_o I suppose thats basically 1st / 7th Years and 2nd / 8th years. The kids over here are generally ok at that age... one or two "dilinquents" but they're just not cocky little arses... like they are in year 9 and 10! You should be just fine - the UK is often said to need good teachers, and i'm sure you'll be just great (one of the best teachers I ever had was American - he must have been good, because he taught RS and I actually found it remotely interesting!) Just one thing - stick an "s" on the end of "math"; it's suprising just how much one suffix can single out two dialects of the same language from each other ^^
How are your internet arrangements? I mean, what with all the different sockets you'll probably not even be able to plug your PC straight into the wall . You'll probably need a new ISP and stuff... broadband should be available if you're close to London, but the UK doesn't have as good coverage as elsewhere in the world... London is a nice city... a nice gradient of new and classical buildings, much like most European cities. If you're feeling arty-farty, there are plenty of Theatres and the Tate gallery is free entry. If you can bare the modern art in there . Perhaps the Millenium Eye would be a nice place to soak up London - it's a giant Ferris-Wheel type thing which is pretty much the best vantage point for seeing all the cities' landmarks... The social gap shouldn't be too massive. We speak the same language and have common roots and stuff. Even our TV is a mix of Britsh and American programmes, so some of the popular stuff from home may just be on. Otherwise, you can watch the soaps (if you're insane ^^) or see some British Comedy... though apparently, a lot of our humour is just too obscure to be funny on the otherside of the ocean!

hahaha thanks for the information, its nice to get it cause frankly this website is my only link to people in england other then those that hired me.
The Canadian or American Grade 7 and 8 are kids in the age range of 11-14 depending when they were born. Most likly 12-14. Im pretty sure im teaching children in the age 11-14 range, but im not sure what that means. Year 7-9? Help me on this Again thanks for the info. Im about 30 mins from central london, i hope we have broadband , and im not taking my computer, hoping to get one there.

I grew up watching British humor. My folks have been visiting England for several years so ive become somewhat acquainted with their lifestyles and interest. With little effort you will find the Brits to be some of the funniest and most interesting people on earth. I consider "All Creatures Great and Small" to be one of the finest book/tv series of all time, and a great chance to see what the life and experiences of a country vet living in pre-WW2 was like, and its a true story from start to finish.
