Ok I may be wrong here, as the person who told me this could be wrong again.

According to Sony, ..... Playstation2 did a record sales in Jan/Feb 2003. Thanks to "The Getaway". And I can see why...... that game did sell a little too well.

Neway...... this has them concerned that games that come right after Xmas sell really well and helps sell the system too. As in Christmas, systems and games sell on its own, cause you know its Xmas. But when everything is over, and consumer wants to buy another game, and see a good game....it really helps the sale for both the system and that game.

This was told to me by the District Manager of Ontario of Playstation. And at the end of the converstation, he mentioned....

Let Christmas come, it'll do well for us, but as everything over, again we'll give a BOOM, by letting Rockstar release "Grand Theft Auto 4" in Jan/Feb 2004, which BY THE WAY is going to be ONLINE.

I was shocked by this, if he is right, then this is going to give one "HELL" of a competition to HALO 2. but.....I was like

Online? How would that work? Would the city be a persistant reality with each player trying to make a name in it? Geez... imagine the chaos! I mean, the moment you first logged on you'd be getting beat down by a crowd of thugs (since I doubt there's be weapons codes in an online world). It'd be a riot.

Seems unlikely that GTA4 will come out in Q1 of 2004. If that happens, it will probably be a choppy, poorly worked on game. I don't want Rockstar to rush anything, take your sweet time and produce a fantastic game.

Secondly, like pilgrimage said, how is that online dealy going to work? One person is the badguy and another plays the police officers? I'm not seeing great possiblities.

We have discussed about this.......before on this forum. It'll be more like 16 players on each server, trying to to the mayhem, and who ever is on the most wanted list for longer wins the round ......and something like that.

But I think the game might come out later..........as I read in some magazines now...........

But I DO KNOW that this "MANHUNT" game is just a discraction from GTA4. They want us to get all busy in this game so they can surprise us with GTA4 ONLINE.

Well Yes, that is a very good point, they distract us with another game, and while we're all in the hype of Manhunt, GTA4 will spring up and amaze the gaming industry...

Yeah, Well there could be a server with up to like 16 players (as Makgsnake said) and then wreak as much havoc as possible in the streets of San Andreas??

I think that Sticking to the Single Player Game will do me fine but i'd like to try online anyway!

and Guess What? The Official Australian PS2 Magazine ( i live in NZ but there is no PS2 mag here so i buy the Aussie one)

To Hell With them, GTA always has, and always be the coolest free roaming, Criminal, Action...bla bla bla etc..game ever..well at least for now!

And True Crime Copied GTA, so that cheap in its self..now off that subject and on to Online GTA4..bring it on!
