Wow gaddy! Im so happy for you! I totally know how you felt! It's so amazing after you've admired someone from afar and then you see them right there in the flesh!! It's too much for words!
Glad you had a great time! Piggle x x x x

On that note, Gaddy, Bowie is coming to the very city I was born in right here in NH! I've never really listened to his music before, but what I hear he is quite the amazing artist. Do I have to be a fanboy to enjoy his stuff or do you think I'd enjoy the concert, anyhow? Also, what songs/albums should I check out first? I'm so glad you had a great time Zoox! You must have just about died of excitement!

You don't have to be a "Fanboy" as you put it. lol, Bowie has that style that is enjoyable to anyone, IMO.
If your gonna start checking out all bowies stuff you must of course see the film Labyrinth. Excellent Film! Piggle x x x x

Thanks so much you guys!!!! It was an experience I'll never ever forget!!!
Reddy, GO SEE HIM!!! Honestly though, even if you hated the guy you'd probably walk out of the concert with a new outlook on him! He is so incredibly charming and has a real stage presence. (and he's so HOTT!!! haha ahem.) He played a lot of his old stuff, only a couple new songs.. When I was first getting into his stuff I was really shocked that he did so many hits; like i'd listen to his CDs for the first time and be astounded and think "I never knew he did that song!" I'd check out 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars' first, it's a fabulous album and he's probably most famous for it. The thing with him is that he's done pretty much every music style out there! (cept for rap & country, phew!!) So like if you like techno, i'd advise "Earthling"; if you like old Beatles kinda silly stuff I'd suggest "David Bowie" (his first album); If you like sort of more mellow stuff, try "Heathen"; If you like more instrumental try "Low" and "Heroes"; Like punk kinda stuff? Try "Tin Machine"; If you like 80's kinda stuff check out "Never Let me Down" or "Let's Dance... I could go on!!! Heh, the sad thing is all that was from my memory... hehe. OR you could always ust go straight to a fantastic mix of all his work and styles with "Best of Bowie"! The booklet tells you from which CD the songs are from too. As for seeing him on screen, fer sure check out "Labyrinth"!!! He's done a whole slew of movies, but he likes the odder kind of movies (that really are pretty bad, hehe but I like them still!) He's a fabulous actor nonetheless! Wah, okay I've gotta shut myself up now before I NEVER stop!!! Last edited by Gadzoox; Apr 4th, 2004 at 11:26 AM.. |

Cool that you've finally seen your hero, Gadz!
Red, like Gadz said go see Bowie if you got the chance it's one of those old-time legends that you have to see when you love music. My girl is a Bowie fan and I got her the tickets as a gift didn't know what to expect but it was a great performance all together. Definately worth-while if only so you can say to your grandchildren I saw Bowie once!
