UT 2004 magnificent!
I thought Ut04 was gunna be just like 03 (and it is but let me get to the point)I was wrong!. better graphics, less lag, vehicles!
I might be starting or joining a UT04 clan if anyone is interested in joining then just reply. If no one replies ill just make my friend go buy the game and play. |

indeed. the demo alone was enough to make me seriously excited, and now I finally have the full version, i'm having one hell of a time
i'm not sure about the clan idea (hopefully my old clan may reform now that the UT series has been revitalised), but if you want a game sometime, perhaps we could all organise a game sometime?

Yea... UT2k4 is excellent. The single player is much better and makes you really feel like you are a team captian. Also, I didnt manage to just plow through it as easily as I did in 2k3.
I love the onslaught multiplayer, although I havent played much of it because my computer hates the onslaught maps.

Onslaught is pretty fun, but i've not played much of it TBH. Deathmatch still retains its fun. Or i'm just too competative or something. BTW: these are highly recommended downloads, pretty much of the quality (and occasionaly even better quality) than the retail game: (even at 500mb for the lot they're worth it. umm... so long as you don't have 56k or something ^_^) https://www.planetunreal.com/cbp/ - Community Bonus Pack Vol 1 + 2 (something like 50 extra maps) https://www.planetjailbreak.com/ - Jailbreak mod - you get killed, you go to jail and your team has to bust you out. (I had trouble accessing it right now, but I think thats just my net being an arse.)

I too found the singleplayer aspect of UT2004 to be cryptically hard. It was okay at first, but in the later stages it just got rediculous. Deathmatches were a doddle as was capture the flag, but assault! Wow! I don't think I even completed it.
Compared to UT2003 this game is hard! I only play it for instagib anyway. As for onslaught, it was very good, a novel concept, but it lost it's appeal after the 150th match or so. I still love the scorpion buggy though, just like Halo's warthog - only with blades!

I played it over a LAN with some friends and found it to be a very good game, their was a wide range of vehicles which are gd. I thought the single player mode wasnt to hard untill the later stages like the person in the previous post.

Single Player is good on the basis that its an improvement over 2003. Its still essentially pointless and only any good as a training exercise for multiplayer... there are 4, maybe 5 of us here with a copy of the game btw... perhaps we could all hit a server at sometime? Oh, and we could swap buddies details at the very least: I am (rather predictably) "kupoartist". Just right click on the "Buddy Name" column of the "Buddies" sub-menu, "add buddy" and enter "kupoartist" and you'll be able to see anyone playing with that nickname at that time. Which should only ever be me, because my name is pretty unique ^^

I 'think' I have the exact same team as Kupoartist, though it's been a while since I played it, so I could have the easter bunny in my team and I wouldn't know.
I hate playing Deathmatch multiplayer for the very reason that there's ex-SAS players out there with crack shot skills that'd put an Elven archer out of a job! I mean, I'm pretty good, but I'm not that good! Put me on a capture the flag or an assault and I'm like a fish in water. I'd love to play, but my other computer has yet to get a connection, so it'll be a little wait yet...
