wow, well I'm hooked

how long has this been out? its only 7 eps in so I'm guessin for not too long, unless it doesnt run weekly...does anyone know when it comes on in japan?

It first aired on October 5. It airs weekly every Tuesday.

I am downloading episode 8 as we speak. It is a good series, I've read the first volume of the manga, a few slight differences here and there.

i just started watching the show. its pretty good so far. kinda like a samurai version of yu yu hakusho.

I watch this show religiousley every week

too good to pass up, and unlike Naruto which has a whole episode and you feel like absolutely nothing happened of importance, every ep of Bleach feels worthwhile

I finally got to episode 20 and I'm literally dying of anticipation because the story is getting better and better (I already know what happens next, but to have it actually translated makes it better

). Omg and I absolutely love the new ending theme "Thank You!!" I need to get the single ASAP...when I start getting some cash flowin' in.

The series is still on-going. No one knows how long the series will be considering that the manga is still on-going as well. The manga is on chapter 173 right now. Episode 25 of Bleach covered chapter 83 and 84 of the manga.

I decided to download the manga. I'm on chapter 16. 1st impressions. I'm impressed. Though I'm still not seeing where you think it's like Kenshin. (talking to Meryl) I find it to be more like Yu Yu Hakusho. Now don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of Yu Yu Hakusho. It's just this seems to be following that concept so to speak.

What I like about this so far is that even though they seem to be following that same concept as Yu Yu Hakusho. This anime tends to make you actually think. Like when people are catching heart attacks and such. Okay, so maybe it don't make everyone think, but that's what I'm getting from it.

It's good, although it's a bit slow. Nevertheless, it's still good.

Well, when I said it was like Kenshin, it was because at that time, I had up to book 11 (the Japanese versions with Renji on the cover) which contained Chapters 89-98...so, Ichigo and company were already at the Soul Society and dealing with the Soul Society Captains and their minions. I compared it to Kenshin only because there were a lot of clans and enemies popping up during the Kyoto-hen (mostly from Shishio's group)...so it just seemed similar to me. That's the only reference. Once I found out Ichigo seems to gain a new power in every chapter, I see how it is so unlike Kenshin in that sense. Hope I answered your question.

A little update. I just finished reading chapter 50. And I must say things've picked up a bit, but it still seems a bit slow. I probably have to read it from the beginning again because you know I'm one of those action freaks that get sucked into the action without fully understanding the story. It has sucked me in... probably not as fast as Naruto did, but I could possibly enjoy this more than Naruto. "Who knows"

But boy, does this thing reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho. With the whole soul hunting thing.... (spirit detective...) You can compare characters too from each show/manga. Yusuke/Ichigo.... Rukia/Genkai etc etc. (You get the point, and I think I might've spelled whatever her name is wrong or I'm way off.)

I do have a question though. Why is this called Bleach? Ichigo's hair? Or just some random title?

The reason for the title isn't revealed yet. Possibly it could be Kurosaki's hair color (which is natural orange, not dyed) or it be something deeper. We'll have to wait to find out.
