Lost in Anguish

by: Sword 4 Hire

The feeling is like nothing you've ever felt
Trapped in a vortex of a thousand thoughts
All of them echoing at once
Making your headache and your body feeling numb
As if you were to fall
But no one would be there to catch you
Or ask if you were all right

You taste nothing but the back of your throat
You have trouble breathing and your chest grows heavy with panic
You try to swallow what little pride you have left
But to no avail
The pain still lingers deep

It smells like smoke
Like an explosion had just taken place
Dark spirals of fog taint the air that you inhabit
You can't see
The ash is too thick to part
Or run from
You're alone

You reach out
Hoping to find another
But all you feel is the air
The cold, damp air
Recycled memories still occupy it
Dance in it
And suck you into it
Head over heels
Unaware

Those are the times of panic
Those are the times of fright
Those are the times of feeling alone
Those are the times when
You're lost in anguish

I actually wrote it recently...I've been goin through a lot of trauma and what not with my life and I thought I'd write something darker than usual...it has to do with that one split second of horror...when you first hear or see something and you can't do anything about it...before you can even calm yourself down or breathe...

This is another great poem S4H.
It's very true and very touching. But hang in there. There are times which are just really rough. Everything will turn out fine... just give it a little time

You have quite the gift. You should sell that, as a song or something, it has great lyrical content and i know that it would
