Help!
Hey guys.
Eeks! I should've thought about this sooner. Anyway, as an English assignment, I have to do a student presentation on "fallacies." The fallacy I'm supposed to present is that of "two wrongs don't make a right." In a gist, in an argument, this way of thinking is fallacious because the on being accused of a wrong action is trying to justify their actions based on another wrong action. Kinda like saying: "Well, I did -X because Y did -Z to me." An example would be: "Capital punishment is fine, since those the state kills don't have any qualms about killing others." Here, person A is justifying capital punishment on the grounds that killing someone who has killed is fine because they killed in the first place. My "argument" *cough* is that the thinking of wrong + wrong = right is, in fact, not correct, but rather is fallacious. Now, I think I can explain this, but the problem is that I need to have concrete examples, and I really can't think of any. Soooo, I was wondering if any of you guys can think of anything. It doesn't have to be anything serious - it can be something coming from a Disney movie. I've been looking for a while, but I can't find something that points to this exactly. If any of you guys have heard of things like this, be it in movies, shows, songs, politics, ect., I would greatly appreciate it if you'd let me know! Thanks a bunch in advance. |

Here's one that I found that's really good IMO:
Political Fallacy: Bush This is the cached version...if you can't see it, here's the quote: Quote:
Fallacy Files I don't know if this is what you're looking for though. I know there are some fallacies in films and even games and such, but I can't think of any right now. I'll try to come up with some later.
