GASH owner not in store, whatsup ????
i'm finally attempting to rob all 15 stores in vice city, i've done 3 of the 4 stores in the northpoint mall, all except the gash. i found the gash, it's 2 floors but i dont find anyone to rob. the only thing i can think of is that maybe when doing the 'break all the windows' mission, i killed the owner and apparently he doesnt respawn. can anyone verify this for me ?? this sucks now that i cant complete 100% of the game, what's even the point of going on?

The store owner should always be there. He should be to the left of the entrance behind the counter. Make sure you check both floors. If he still isn't there, walk out of the mall and walk back in. If he's still not there, I'd say you got a crappy game.

Now there's not real proof of this, but some people have been saying that cheating may cause some glitches. If you've been cheating, that mgith be a possible explination.
But once again, it really hasn't been proven. |

If you've had it that long, I doubt it.
Some possibilities: 1. Sell it back as a used game, but don't tell anyone it's screwed up. Then use the money you get from that to rent it until you get 100% 2. Rent a copy and put your screwed up one in the case and keep the good one (slightly illegal, but that's up to you) |

GOT AN IDEA ------ rent a copy dont switch play the rented copy and rob all stores then save and then return it and use your copy and you will have all the robberies... do the same thing if you have another problem

I'm full of slightly illegal ideas, I think GTA is warping my mind.
Speaking of robbing stores... What's everybody's favorite weapon to rob stores? I personally enjoy using the spaz shotgun. A little messy at close range, but it gets the job done and the stupid clerk doesn't even have a chance to reach for the alarm. |

hey i was just thinking though, IF my problem in this case is what i said earlier, that I killed the Gash owner and he doesn't respawn, and I saved the game like that, it wouldn't matter if i rented a copy or not, because it's my saved game file on my memory card that has the info, not the disc itself, right ?

Hmmm....I didn't think about that...
Ok, here's a full-proof way of finding out if your game is screwed up: Start a new game and go to the Northpoint Mall and see if the clerk is in GASH. If he is, kill him, leave and return. If he's not back, or was never there in the first place, your game is messed up. As for the memory card thing, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should borrow a friend's copy to see if that's the case. |

oh well then that probably means i got a defective copy, but i'm gonna try to start a new game when i get home and go directly to northpoint mall to see if he's there in the beginning anyway just to be sure. and if not, maybe i'll have to do that slightly illegal thing mentioned earlier.
what do you get for completing 100% of the game anyway? |

The big mystery has come to an end, well sort of anyway. I didn't figure out why this glitch happened, but I went to the n.p. mall to the gash and lo and behold the owner was there for me to rob, thank god! I don't know where he disappeared to all that time, probably smokin a bone out in the parking lot, but now I can stop worrying about not being able to complete 100 %. Yay!!!!!
By the way, who voted this thread 5 stars ???? I may never know but thank you to whoever you are, I feel so special now. |
