Scott Pilgrim!
I've never been the biggest reader of comic books, but I've fallen deeply in love with the Scott Pilgrim series and would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Definitely worth checking out if yr a fan of cute, indie things that are silly and fun and above all, full of love. xx

LOL! I read up to page 13 and it's very funny actually. I didn't expect it to be considering the synopsis which describes a plot that I probably wouldn't like later on (sorry). But so far, the dialogue is very relaxed and real with a realistic use of pacing and it's also funny. The illustrations are also nice, blending a bit of manga and western comics.
The only things I don't like is probably Scott only for the impression that he's using Knives as a rebound...not very cool of him. Secondly, I don't like the name given to the "Chinese" girl - Knives Chau? Knives Chow? A sort of a negative pun, I feel, and also a stupid reference to eating...it's annoying when people think of the Chinese they immediately think of food aka Chinese food. Sure, it's better than referencing martial arts and giving her a name like Gong Foo Lee (Kung Fu Lee) but still... Other than these gripes, it's very enjoyable to read.

A ninja name! I think it would be a bit silly to suggest that the author is a racist, considering his heritage...
They're making this series into a film now with Michael Cera being directed by Edgar Wright. It could be a good adaptation!

Hehe, a ninja name for a Chinese girl.
I'm not implying the artist is racist but just slightly ignorant. In the end though, it doesn't really matter, just thought I'd point out how silly the name is for me.
