Yeah, thanks, I really like this site, I have been visiting it for quite sometime. Its nice that they have reviews from all the other sites and you can do the ranking thing among games from all platforms. But yeah........it all comes down to Ratio and Ratings. Some sites give a game 90+ and some 40+ and they end up being a 70+ game. Oh well..

Thanks for reminding me.

isn't the difference a bit of a double edged sword though? because PAL has more lines per screen (vertical?), 90% of games are converted with "large thigh" sized borders at the top and bottom of the screen, and an excuse that "uhhh.. uhhh, its in widescreen!!!".

PAL = better image quality (thats evident when you watch a UK program against a US one - a dvd ripping obsessed friend of mine would blame it on "interlacing" or somthing) but also a diminished 50hz screen refresh rate. I've never seen a NTSC screen next to a PAL one admitadly, but 50hz is definatly noticably "fluttery" ... ouchies

oh and its great to hear that somthing is comming out in the UK first

Just played the Demo of it. And I have to say, after playing I have totally changed my opinion about the game. I would say some Camera Angles are frustrating, but man the game is awesome. Its great, I think I am going to buy this game when it comes out here. Pretty sure now.

Car handling isn't that great, but the storyline and the Voice Overs are top notch. And man the "F***" word is used soo many freaking time in the cutscenes, and not only that, but during the gameplay, while shooting the guys, they swear alot and "F" word comes every 30 seconds or something...damn! This game sure is 17+.....

I really like the idea of "Jump Out Shoot", Metal Gear Style put into this game, and take hostages as a shield and shoot them in the head when your done with them. The Graphics are pretty amazing too. Just the car handling and character movement is quite funny. I know thats like the main thing, still..........till now it seems like a great game. I think I'll buy it.

Edit: By the way, I finished the Demo in 15 minutes, man that was some SHORT TINY DEMO.

yes i was shocked when he says the "f" word nearly ever 30 secs but i think thats what cocney gangsters r like, like the first timei heard him say it was the first mission and a shot some barrels and he said f***ing hell whoa this is some game!

the cars is hard to drive it is a little fustrating becuase i am use to VC and they r the same buttons as vc.

end the demo is a little short, but it starts off a damn good story line.

Makg, I thought you said you worked at best buy. Correct me if im wrong, but its already out now and only 39.99. I bought it just the other day. It's a good game. Horrible Car A.I. frustrating angles, but fear not. Really Good Game!!! If you can get over these "minor" infractions, you should play this game. I am very happy w/ my purchase, and can't wait to get into it deeper.

I can't do as much gaming as I used to due to the fact that i have a full time job. 60 hours a WEEK!!! But I bring home over 400 dollars a week I just bought a gamecube, xbox, THe Sims, The Getaway, Animal Crossing, Halo, and am purhasing Everquest online adventures... Just in case anyone cares

Damn the getaway is hard, im still stuck on the second mission, Its so much different that Vice City dont you guys think, but its so much better too. Still, a radio and having a free roam of the city from the start of the missions would have been nice. Maybe a map in the pause menu (London is so hard to get around lol, I cant figure out where I am)

And real cars, Brilliant.

Saw it over at a friends last night, and i think the game will be really fun. Once i get done with Red Faction 2 and check around some on a good deal, i will sincerely give it a chance to impress me some...

It#s probably the most realistic game I've played, but then again, realism has its flaws (like not being able to live after a car hits you etc. )

But it seriously is worth at least renting, but I would recommend you buy it.

Amen dude!! I am so pumped to make more than min. wage!! After 40 hours i get time and 1/2. So thats 2o hours a week for 12 dollars an hour. thats around 240 in 2 days... The only thing that sucks is the taxes That and i am looking for a place on my own, so i cant buy everything i want just yet... Gotta find a roomate who loves to game, but also wants to work... Im gonna need lots of luck!

Back to the topic... Yeah Getaway is pretty difficult, but worth the $$. Especially w/ the 39.99 rather than the normal. Oh and DMC2 comes out in US thursday Looks like I'll have to start saving for my own place next week

Who are you asking?? If me I would have to say....... Oh god i dont know they both are good games, both have serious flaws, but both are good I guess i would have to side with Max Payne(so far), because of the story and true innovation. For its time it introduced a lot of new gameplay elements... Although the getaway is introducing excessive use of vulgarities, not that theres anything wrong w/ that

I am getting this game this coming firiday, alongside Devil May Cry 2, YEAH!!!

And by the way I like the idea of getting hurt, if you hit your car, I mean common thats how it should be eh......
I loved and I mean simply loved the DEMO, and I will love this game too, its just that I bought Vice City a week ago, and playing that alot, still I am pretty sure I'll play The Getaway as much too. But when I'll have Devil May Cry 2 as well, and I still have to do so much in Splinter Cell and Shenmue II and I havn't reached that far in Metroid Prime either... AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Then w/ more games on the way i am going to be going crazy. If I didnt have to work soo much, then MAYBE i would have time! Oh well, i guess good games is the least of my worries... *stops complaining*

Damn, why are there only 24 hours in a day, there should be like more.........

Those Damn selfish romans. That Caesar should have thought of gamers when he was making up a calender!! *Looks at thread, not sure who made callender*

Sundays are the only day i have off, so That is my day... Within a year though, i may be able to play games all day I am top on the list to manage my own division of a Game Crazy store, which is an affiliate of Hollywood Video. They have asked me to manage when they open one around here. My Regional manager met w/ me and said "Now, I m not sure about how you will feel about this, but you will have to play games at work. We need someone who knows what theyre talking about."

All i could do was laugh!
