-SCEA NET is Nothing Like Xbox Live!!!-

I owned both online subscriptions and I must say that Xbox Live! has way better features than SCEA NET. For example, if you compare the two voice games, "SOCOM" and "Unreal Championship", you will say "No difference, they both can talk during gameplay." In fact, you are wrong by saying that because in SOCOM, only one person can talk at once. However, Unreal allows 16 players at once talk simulateously. Also, the "Friends List" system is way more advanced in Xbox Live!...Why? Cuz in Xbox Live!'s friends list, you can track that person and see if he/she is playing your game or other games, so you can invite him/her or join his/her game. I am not biased or anything cuz I have more SCEA Online games than Xbox, I am just saying to truth.

I'm interested in Live for sure. But right now the only game that appeals to me is Ghost Recon. I hope more shooters like BF - 1942 and Wolfenstien make it to Live. When that happens I'll be running to get my kit. Out of curiosity......does the voice thing get on your nerves any? The thought of hearing a bunch of 15yr olds talking trash to each other non stop isn't too appealing.

Martini Buddi, think about real life conversation. Duh!

There are more 20-35 yrs old people on Xbox Live! rather than 13-20. In fact, Ghost Recon is really crap, everytime you log in, there are only about 6 games going. IMO, you should get Unreal Championship cuz that game kicks and you can use "Voice Masking". Also, you can download contents via Xbox Live! in Unreal. Good luck and hope to see you online in either Xbox Live! or SCEA NET.

Yeah i also have both services now and live is a little more clean and setup better, but don't count sony's service out.I must say that i really enjoy some live games but some of sony's games kick the crap outta the ones the xbox has.Now heres the thing, microsoft all broadband gaming is turning out as great as i hoped in some cases.Unreal for example lags like hell on most of the servers i played on even though i got a premium connection, then on socom i can play as smooth as butter with 56kers and not have a problem. Now i do admit the lack of voice in most of the ps2 games is a downfall but the expirence over shadows that in some aspects.I guess in the future we can only hope for a dedicated headset like ms is using.Plus i think the live service needs more game support, theres not much of a selection and that could turn off a lot of users.

I prefer Ghost Recon for Xbox Live. But I'm in the minority so bleh.

MechAssault = Unbalanced.
I also find it stupid when they return you to the lobby after every game...........

UC.......Bleh. *has it on PC*

XBL rarely lags for me. o_o

I dislike the voice com. But I'll get used to it sooner or later.

Well how is it? Is it decent game related chatter or just a bunch of "you cheating %$#$!". I've played online games on the PC so I'm guessing it would be the second.

That may change when there's more subscribers. GR is a great game.

I really hate the Unreal series so that isn't gonna happen.

Maybe soon.

Martini buddi,

Most people are actually very nice in Xbox Live!, but if you swear one time, they swear back at you 20 times. Also, some people talk 24/7 and it gets pretty annoying hearing them all the time. The headset is comfy and easy to use, it connects directly to the memory card slot and the card thingie allows you to set the volume and toggle microphone on/off. The actual online price haven't been decided yet but you can still play Xbox Live! for one year without paying. (Free starting from the day your activate Xbox Live!, not purchase.) My guess is that Xbox Live! will be charged for $5 USD/yr. Also, forgot to mention, there's one more problem in Ghost Recon is that when you find games in Opti-Match, you have to set the min. players to 3 cuz if you make it 0, no games will show up. Anyways, that's no biggie and I am sure you wouldn't mind that.

Angelo: In fact, most of the people in America play Mech Assault in Xbox Live!, UC is No. 4...

Snake: You are right, SOCOM is very smooth, I never get a lag. I mean, how can SCEA NET do that? I am very impressed with the SOCOM's server. However, I traded SOCOM with the Xbox Live! Kit.

I just have Fever and Unreal Champ for Xbox Live.

Fever is cool once in awhile, its kinda hard at times getting a game going and its so hard to find someone who plays real football rather than cheating by say making up their own team with a 99 rating...

And for Unreal Champ, it gets a little crazy but when your playing 2 on 2 and you have a good partner its fun as hell. If there there 16 your pretty much dead 5 seconds after you've respawned.

What other games should I get...I want more sports I think.

Holy crap! Ghost recon is crap? Sorry to make you think while you are playing a shooter I love ghost recon for the simple fact that you don't run in gun a-blazin and you actually have to form a good team strategy to win. But then again, I love war sims and I adore this game and play it more than any other in my entire game collection
