This is a new anime by Pioneer LDC and by the ones who created Ghost in the Shell. Here is a story:

The story takes place in the present day.
Isthar is an island kingdom located off the coast of England.
The Royal family entrusts Cloud 7 to carry out special missions to resolve troubles around the kingdom and to prevent crimes. Cloud 7 is a special agency codenamed L/R, and its ace agents are Row Rickenbacker and Jack Hofner. From cars to cigarettes, the action-packed show is loaded with awesome spy gadgets and equipment.

The opening theme is performed by Billy Preston, who as some of you may know, has worked with The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

This anime looks pretty promising. From the pics I've seen, the drawings are cartoony...almost like FF:U, IMO but it's still very nice and the lines crisp and clean. It's only fansubbed right now because it's still being aired in Japan. Has anyone here seen or heard of it?

For those who are interested, I had just finished watching 2 episodes of "L/R" last night and here are my thoughts:

The anime is pretty good so far; the character designs as I stated earlier are very cartoon-ish and the graphics are pretty traditional but not too detailed (like shading, creases, etc.). There are no CG's being used in it, from what I can tell.

The two main characters are those "typical" kind of "spies": one of them is the smooth talker and the other one is kinda clutzy, but has his own special strengths. Both work well with one another and are a pretty comedic duo.

The setting is in London and they did a great job drawing the Tower of London, the streets, cars and so on.

The disadvantages of this anime is the music. While the music is superb (think a bit of Hellsing, a little of Cowboy Bebop, a little of Lupin the III and that's what you get), it's played in too many scenes. For example, in the first episode, in just 5 different scenes alone, there were 5 different songs being played. But, they're not instrumental....they're vocal. So, while you're trying to listen to the character's words, you're basically hearing the "background" music as well. Quite distracting.
The opening theme, though, is very nice...it reminds me of the song "You've Got a Friend in Me" in Pixar's "Toy Story". But there's still a large difference.

All in all, the anime so far seems quite cheerful and easy-going/casual. If anyone gets a chance, check it out.

I don't think adding in Lupin the III is a good idea The music irritates me and it's one of those themes you start to hum a lot.
