FFXI + HDD = EU, is that just a myth?

I had heard somewhere that the EU version of FFXI was being designed to work without the HDD. lol better not be true, we'll miss out on stuff for sure if it is

Unless you see it officially, just assume it's a rumor. There's been a lot of those for FFXI.

Just eagerly anticipated, I guess.

it has also been rumored for the US version: the Beta Sign-up lacks "PS2 Hard Drive" among its requirements for starters, but the actual sale of the Hard Drive hasn't been somthing Sony is discussing. With Europe always getting even less, you can figure that the HD seems unlikely to emerge in Europe. (Hence saying "unless its offical, don't believe it", actually works on itself - the Hard Drive has never been confirmed for release outside of Japan)

So simply, its pretty much a case of the PS2 version getting released with the use of a memory card, or not at all in Europe. the PC version is where its at in this case....

In the beta sign up 'legal stuff', they said they'd send everything that you need to play along with the disc. Since I don't see what else you could need to play, aside from the HDD, then I assume that's what they meant.

so what I've gathered from thi, is that FFXI will more than likely be without the HDD, and the acvtually exsistence of the HDD out side of SCEJ is a fantasy.......

i was looking forward to it and all

well, i wouldn't think so. I'm pretty sure that FFXI wouldn't work without the HDD anyway. Its all just nasty speculation, and FFXI is getting a North American Release, so the HDD will make it there.

As for Europe though, I have serious doubts that FFXI will be released at all, and if it is, not without significant delay. just get the PC version, it'll undoubtably be out sooner, (the US import will work on EU PCs anyway), it'll have nicer graphics and you'll still get all the features and link up with the PS2 users. Unless your PC isn't up to much, in which case... poop.
