Well i didnt know what to call this thread to be honest. I guess theme would be apropriate but that would spark off a trail of one word replies and thats not what i wanted to acheive.

No I want everyone to post their fave theme with an indepth analysis of why it is what makes it special to you?

Pure Heart (aka Aeriths theme)
Nobuo Uemesta really sold himself with this in my opinion it really sums up everything that Aeris is, a strong spirited woman, selfless willing to sacrifice herself just to save the world.
It reall fits nicely with the death scene especially with the white materia clanging against the steps. Also through the jenova fight it really builds up tension and makes you think of all the wonderfull moments you shared with Aeris as you played the role of Cloud, and how Cloud perhaps was to shy to tell her how he felt. In conclusion its a great theme for a great character very sad but also very uplifting.

Final Fantasy VI: Tina's theme.
A brilliant, brilliant piece of music. hell... I always end up saying that ^_^. I Recently got the FF : Pray album, which contains a track based on the Theme (Toki no Hourousha - The wanderer of time) and its pretty damned haunting ^_^ even if its in Japanese, I try my best to "sing" along (in the loosest sense of the word). The tune itself is a masterful one, and it usually pops into my head at least once a day to ask for a hum, which is pretty damned impressive when I've known it for a year and not got sick of it ^_^

Oh and to break the rules I'm going to mention some other themes that are in my head at the moment: Mog's Theme (FF5-6 and 9) Tarataru Female (FF11 - Its so damned sweet, even though its by Kumi Tanioka, not Uematsu) Mithra theme (FFXI again, by Kumi Tanioka - This sounds like its from the 80's) FFXI Opening Theme (very cool) Liberi Fatali (FFVIII - which blends Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, with some very meaningful Latin weirdness) and finally the Prelude (the FF Crystal Theme)
