Character or Story?

Ok, so what do you think is better. Is an idea better of concentrating on the characters more than the action? or the main plot? (evangelion) or do you think that the story "should go on?" (fatal fury).
I dont know, maybe i should concentrate on the characters for evangelion was a hit. Or maybe the story because, well, thats what we look for.

Its been 3 days now...i wonder if anyone reads the fanfiction page anymore?

Personally, I think you have to have both. Endearing characters to tell a good story too. One or the other just isn't enough. If I had to pick though, I'd say a good story is more important overall. If some interesting characters sat around a table doing nothing, I wouldn't be very excited. If some dull characters went on an interesting journey, I'd be more inclined to read that than the other example. However, to be clear, it takes two to tango with this one...

Finally a reply! thanks for the opinion. You made your point clear..i just needed that for now, im thinking for writing my own personal story all over. Thanks letter! oh and i added you finally.

If you have a good story it's easier to have good characters too. While for a writer it's more difficult to create very convincing characters and not to have a strong storyline. Only few can achieve good results doing so.
