Sorry but its the PSP all the way for me. Plus the whole dual screen seems kinda like a cheap gimmick to me. Plus PSP is where the visuals are at.

i'm not a fan of the handhelds..but if i were to choose one i'd go with the DS. The psp just seems a bit too ambitious. Most consumers like myself just want something to play games on, instead of a multimedia centrer with DVD capabilities..etc..
Such features are nice, although the price tag isn't.. The Ds has alot of support already..Team ninja is making a game for it. i think microsoft studios said they were interested in the DS as well.

I like my handhelds to be gaming machines; not gadgets with gaming capabilities thrown in as a bonus. I mean, the PSP is really nice -- don't get me wrong -- but it just doesn't seem like it is a serious gaming device. While the DS' dual screens and 'stylus gaming' is indeed a gimmick, it's one that clearly sells. Also, the fact that the PSP's screen isn't protected, you'd better be ready to welcome it to scratch country! Futher more, I personally feel that the Nintendo DS has more tried-and-true franchises behind it and its success -- everyone knows Mario, and even Link and Samus to an extent. And Microsoft can't be interested in the DS; well, unless they want to lose more money than they already are by giving it to their rival company.

I find it interesting that you call the PSP a "gadget with gaming features thrown in", when I only recently had a debate with someone over the fact that the PSP has far fewer "special features" (i.e. Gimmicks) than the DS. He argued that the PSP was all about pretty graphics but nothing else. Who knows... either way, I can't honestly say that i'd buy either of these handhelds just yet. The PSP has the hardware and stylish looks, but Sony are being oh so quiet about battery power and pricing. And then, Dual Screens just don't excite me at all... or fill me with confidence in the battery and price department either. Looks like i'll just keep with my first-gen GBA then. Shame my nuclear-fired light source ran out of batteries, so i guess i'll have to sit under direct sunlight if I want to see the screen

I personally would have to choose the DS because I have been a fan of Nintendo for a while and it sort of disappoints me becuase Nintendo lately has been getting the short end of the stick in the gaming industry. Hopefully some day Nintendo will out do PS2 and X-box.

im not getting either. psp is trying too hard to appeal to the masses of casual gamers who buy a PS2 just so they can play Need for Speed Underground and Madden, and the DS's dual screens don't appeal to me (Ooooh, 2 screens must mean twice the fun, right.....NO!). I'm waiting for the new Game Boy to come out. It is, after all, the highest selling game machine of all time.

BOTH.
There´s amazing titles coming out for each even though Metroid and Metal Gear are enough reasons for me. I won´t be getting either one any time soon, though, I still enjoy my 2 GBA SP a lot.
