FFTA Released and Reviewed (North America)
Its out, and already its acclaimed! The Psuedo-Sequel to FF Tactics on the Playstation, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is now available on Nintendo's GBA for everyone in North America. Judging from these reviews, if you're planning on any trip of any kind, you should buy it and keep yourself occupied...
IGN - 90% - https://pocket.ign.com/articles/436/436979p1.html Gamespy - 94% - https://www.gamespy.com/reviews/september03/fftagba/ (I really love those artworks as well...) and if you're European, the release date is apparently sometime next month. As US GBA carts work in UK GBAs, it must be taking an extra month to fit a few "u"s into the game's text. So thats at least 2 days work on any reference to "window colo(u)r" then. Edit: Whoops I lied. Its out tommorow! (9th), so buy it then.

Actually, unless a store gets it earlier than Electronics Boutique, Best Buy, or Circuit City it should come out tuesday or wednesday depending where you go. Well, that's the way it is around here in northern Virginia anyway, but gives you something to think about.
I went to all 3 store and EB said tomorrow the 9th and best buy and Circuit CIty's adds around here said wednesday. I'm gonna get it wednesday though, the three stores have 3 different prices listed. Best Buy, 29.99; Circuit City, 26.99(up until september 13th, I think it should be at 29.99 after then); and EB, 34.99 I woulda got it at EB if they had it, but alas they did not. I'd much rather wait the extra day and get it 8 dollars less than just pay 8 extra dollars for one day early. It's gonna eat my mind up cause that's all I'll be thinking about. I'll let ya know what I think. Last edited by ssjtrunks13; Sep 8th, 2003 at 07:04 PM.. |

Not on a completely unrelated note........I played the original Finaly Fantasy Tactics and loved it. I have been trying to find a game that would equal it in depth, gameplay and difficulty for the Playstation 2, but I can't seem to find anything. Does anybody have any suggestions. Thanks.

I don't have a GBA yet and I don't plan on getting one until after X-Mas. I have been looking forward to the game since I first heard about it. It sounds like it should be a good game. But it doesn't sound like it will be as good as the original Final Fantasy Tactics. I'll just have to wait and play it.

Thanks for the info Preventer. This is a fairly new game, correct? I saw it in the store the other day and almost picked it up. I've heard a few good things about it. I was leaning towards getting that title if I couldn't find or find out about any other tactics games worth the time and money.

I think it came out last week. It got fairly good scores.
I don't know of any other Strategy RPGs that hove come out for the consoles in the last couple of months. Tactics Ogre for the GBA also got good scores. I played it for about an hour and I thought it was good. Advance Wars 2 came out a couple months ago for the GBA. Fire Emblem is another GBA game. It should be coming out soon. I'm sure there are others but they don't get hyped up as much as other RPGs and I prefer those other RPGs

Unfortunately, I do not have a GBA. Although, with all the games I've been seing released, it might be worth it to go out and get one.

One happy gamer
Yay! Picked up the last copy today from Game Crazy (a subsidiary I guess of Hollywood Video), but haven't started playing yet- homework comes first of course, . I think this should keep me well occupied throughout the fall. . .though there are many more good games coming out.

I got it yesterday like DragonSphere, played 3 hours of the game and it's going pretty good. I just bought the guide today, mainly for when I play a new game. That's right, this time I was gonna keep from using a guide. I first started off liking to use cheat codes for my rpgs and then I quit after FFVII. Anyway, there's 300 missions so if you try to do all of them I'd say it would take you a while to beat the thing. Of course you could probably just go through the game only playing the missions that get you through the story.
