Best Guybrush!
To me the best looking Guybrush Threepwood is the one from Monkey Island 2! In Monkey Island 3 and 4 he looks completely different!

Although I think the Guybrush from Escape And Cruse really were the same.
I still love the Curse Of The Monkey Island's one. I love that game, it was soooooooo fun, and man its jokes were soo nice, some where corny but still funny. And Guybrush's looks were really cute there, more like Ace Ventura type (not that irritating though) but still.

Re: Best Guybrush!
Monkey Island 2 definatly... yay ruggedness! - to be honest, I really, really disliked Monkey Island 3... I'd definatly imagined Guybrush as someone completely different, and it wasn't particuarly funny anyways. I'll get round to getting a copy of Monkey Island 4 one day...

I don't like much the Guybrush of MI 3 as well. It was a shock when I first looked at him, after comparing him with the one of LeChuck's revenge! I like a lot more the Guybrush from MI 4, which is a bit different from the one of the previous game. BTW, my fave one is the Guybrush from MI 2.

I loved the Guybrush from the first two games. Ok, the first one was young, and that's why I picked the Guybrush from Lechuck's Revenge. It's not that I don't like the new Threepwood though... it's only that, as the others said, I was expecting him to look completely different

Actually, I'm still out of the loop. How come I've never heard of this game series Monkey Island? Have I been in a hole the past few years or however long its been around?? And would I like it?...I guess the question would be.

You'll hate Monkey Island if: 1. you have the humor of a person who been hanging upside down for 28 years (ie. the games are "laugh out loud funny" - though you can debate whether the third is so inclined (i think not)) 2. you have the brain of the kind of person who can't find a walkthrough in a search engine (ie. the games are a little hard in the sense that some of the puzzles are abstract - i don't recommend you use a walkthrough unless really stuck of course, but it is handy) 3. you hate puzzles 4. you absolutely detest 2D graphics from ten years ago (applies to 1 and 2 only) 5. you don't particuarly find "pointing and clicking" a very fun basis for a game - there aren't many recent games to work this out from though - all the ones i can think of are ages old (Sam & Max, Day of The Tentacle and Grim Fandango are good examples) Perhaps you should try renting the fourth out for a while? - i've heard it sort of a middle ground, in that its not as funny as the first two, but is graphically impressive.

I agree with artist on the fact maybe this series is not for everyone. At least, not for people that have nothing in common with PC games. Even if the last game is also for console, I think Monkey Island mainly remains a PC title. Also, average console players are not used to the type of puzzles included in this series. If you're one of those PC games haters, this game is not for you.
