source = www.gameforms.com As reported on Ferrago, Nintendo has issued cease and desist notices to European retailers, forbidding them to supply games imported from the US or Japan. Offenders will be cut off by the company, losing their privileges to sell official Nintendo products.

Nothing has been mentioned about whether similar actions will be taken on US retailers. As of press time, our calls to NOA have not turned up any additional information.

ugh! should Nintendo be allowed to get away with this? what is importing actually doing to harm their products, and why shouldn't European gamers be allowed to pay for Nintendo games that they have no hope of playing for a few months, if ever?

A few months ago somthing similar happened in Australia: Sony tried to stop importing by targetting the retailers of mod-chips. It went to court and Sony lost the case, on the grounds that AUS gamers should be allowed to get as good a selection as they wish. Hope the same happens here :/

That's utter crap. Gameshops should be able to carry imported games from japan or amercia. i mean games take a long time to get over there and now they are really strikeing down the chance for the people in europe. stupid nintendo

Or... maybe that means good news? maybe they're doing that since they DO plan to release european versions for those games? That would be the only reason thatwould make sense. Good luck...

I dont believe Nintendo. First they dont make european users some games to be released over here. Now they're trying to cut us off completley. This is stupid and a bad buisness move. At least they get money from the importing.
