Do you ever...
Do you ever wonder where people you knew online go, if one day they disappear and never come back? Do you think "where will they be in one year or two" or "will we still be chatting or talking to each other"? Do you think about how much frail and temporary are most of your online friendships and relations?

I know many persons meet online people knowing they could stop talking all of a sudden and they don't seem to be worried or interested in this problem. This is difficult to happen when you have a friend "offline" because you can always (there are few exceptions") call a friend on the phone, or go to their home, or send them a letter, or find them in the places they go to usually. But when you lose contacts with an "online" friend, there's no much hope to find them, to know if they're ok, if they need help, if they're angry with you, if they changed many things in their lives. This thought is scary, at least for me.

I'd have to get really close to someone to worry about them if they went away...cause its hard to form online connections when all your receving are typed words.

Typed words can be more direct and true than real words...

I did that at the beginning. i used to worry a lot and give a lot of importance to the person. But not anymore. I have found out that ppl don't care so much about me the same way I care for them, so is no use to worry about them after all. anyways, is usually just unknown faces, sadly

It takes a while to for me to form online friendships.. or "real" friendships for that matter. If a relatively close online friend just dissapeared without a word I'd wonder though.

I used to worry about it much in the past, but this destroyed all my pleasure in meeting online people and be their friend. I stopped caring, at least when it's not necessary.

Yes I know what all of you mean. It seems odd for someone to post a lot and then leave their friendes and never show up again.

Do you mean your career won't let you use a computer anymore?
