Angry Anime that you own

I was curious to know what anime you guys have actually bought.
I know many of you have watched plenty of anime, but some is bought and others are rented, right ?
So, what I'd like to know is which anime titles you own, and on what format you have them on (VHS, DVD, VCDs, HD... and so on and so forth).

I think some lists will be rather large and some may have too many to remember, but some names are better than nothing. Pictures would be great, but lists are good, too.

of course, it was excellent. I'm going to buy the series, but first i want to finish up berserk. I was going to buy the collecters box set, but my friend josh got it first. I'll probably get the first two dvd's on the 22nd, same day i get X vol 6.

And Meryl, my Gosh, how much money didn you spend on anime! That's got to be a few thousand right there? I've been collecting for a little over two years now, and i've only had a job for a little over one year. Mine alone was expensive enough, but yours is astronomical. DEo you have a rough estimate of how much your anime worth is?

You're about right...the rough estimate would be around $4,000-$5,000. I started collecting in 1998 and plus, I'm adding to this total the Japanese DVDs which cost about $40-50 each. And there's also the VCD costs, which are sometimes $100. It's not just me buying all this though; my sister and I both pay for it and sometimes, I get some animes for birthdays/Christmas. It's not really worth it to get double/triple copies of the same anime (like Fruits Basket), but I just go crazy and this adds to the total, which is pretty dumb of me.

EDIT: Oh and CC, could you tell me what that "Colorful" anime is about? The title sounds interesting.

Well, i only own 2 anime dvds since there aren't good stores to buy anime dvds in. So i bought 2 incredibly expensive ones.

Arentosoma VOLUME 1
End of evangelion

Those are the two. I also got a dvd player quite...lets say...like 5 months or so ago, and i became an anime fan sometime in that time.

Thats why i dont own too many, i wished i did though...i need more anime! whatever.

Well, i bought it thinking it was just some sort of fanservice humor, a wide range of "colorful" comedy composed by various directors and artists, each with it's own humorus style and wide range of genres of dirty comical episodes. But, it wasn't. After about 4 episodes i began getting very tired of watching it. The same old crap over and over, and after a while it wasn't even funny anymore.

If you know someone who has it, then i suggest finding someone who owns it and borrowing it from them, because it's really not worth the money.

I love potty humor, if it's done with the right japanese anime flare, btu this was not. It reminded me of those morons who you see at school who think that the word boobies is funny.

All of it was the same, same jokes, same animation, same directors, same everything. It did make me laugh at first, pretty hard too, but then it just made me want to fall asleep. Someone like you probably wont like it, and usually i find everything at least a little bit amusing, but this was a pretty big waste of money.

I do however, think that if i just watched a few episodes eevry day, that it would'nt be so bad, but i watched 14 out of the 16 all at once. But still, try renting it if you can.

i guess i should really answer your initial question though, about what this is really about. Well, it's 16 short episodes about guys who love looking at girls panties. It shows about 8 thousand scenes of guys getting all excited when they all of the sudden, see a girls underskirt and bra. The expressions are quite funny, but it's still very dirty at times. And the idea of clean lanuage isn't existant in this show. They have all of the dirty words that you hear on HBO, and suprizing enough, they seemed to put in the "F" word in a lot. Kinda funny the way the slapped some of the words in there, but not enough to really make this worth while.

That's the just of it all i guess.

Heh, you're right...this isn't really my thing. The title does sound interesting, but this isn't what I expected. Thanks for the information though.

EDIT: Mena, what about your list? I'm curious to know which ones you've bought.

X TV DVD full set imported (Because I don't believe in English dubs)
Dragonball Z DVD's (VERY expensive because you have to buy them individually) up to Android Series (Cell Saga isn't out yet)
Spriggan
Spirited Away
Castle in the Sky
Gundam Endless Waltz
Hellsing complete (Japanese version) Only 3 DVD's... Such a short anime
X: The Movie (Shouldn't have bought... The reason I bought the series)
Princess Mononoke (Regret it)
Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Ninja Scroll
Tokyo Babylon (Not as good as X... Really cheesy)
I, My, Me! Strawberry Eggs (First and second DVD, good series)
Rourouni Kenshin (Full series - Yes, it was expensive, no, I have yet to see it)
Kenshin OVA 1, 2 and 3 (Dammed good OVA - much worth the purchase)
Record of Lodoss War (I also had the VHS full series, but I sold it as it was no longer necessary)
Akira special Edition
Trigun Boxset (Pretty good... Not the best... But worth it)
Get Backers (1st DVD - waiting for others)
Naruto (1st DVD - waiting for others)
Get Backers (Full on VCD's)
Naruto (Full on VCD's)
Naruto is ongoing so I will probably spend a lot of money collecting it... Get Backers has stopped at 36 ( At least Anime-Empire stopped fansubbing it at 36, and I don't think any others have released any more, so I'm wondering what's going on with that. I won't watch it from anyone other than Anime Empire)
Spiral Full (It's alright... Kind of a bad ending, but the anime itself is good)
Scryed Full (Damned good series)

Note - 90% of my DVD's are Japanese... Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate English Dubs.

Omg, tell me about it. I would really enjoy this series to pieces if it weren't for the bad ending. A terrible ending that pissed me off because of all the tension and story and character build-up which could've been developed into something much, much better. I just don't understand why they ended the series the way they did.

Uhh... *ahem*. Well, I myself am rather new to anime, too. The first anime I saw was when I was a younger child, and was most likely Sailormoon, but at that time, I had no idea as to what anime was.
The first VHS I bought was last Sep. by recommendation of Meryl

So, anyway, here goes:

U$ licensed DVD:

X- The movie
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo : 2040 (excellent music!)
Cowboy Bebop
Escaflowne (- 3rd favorite )
Noir ( - 2nd favorite )
Blood: The Last Vampire ( ... )
Kite ( I swear... I didn't know! )
Armitage III
Armitage : Dual Matrix
Read or Die
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Now and Then, Here and There ( favorite anime to date )
Kenshin ( not complete... yet)
Weib Kreuz ( 1rst DVD )
His and Her Circumstances
Fruits Basket ( tied at 2nd fav. ^_^ )
CB : The Movie
Ranma 1/2 - Season 1
Perfect Blue
Grave of the Fireflies ( Excellent film )
Hellsing
Gokudo - 1rst DVD -
Laputa : Castle in the Sky
Berserk - First volume; to be completed
Trigun (unwatched) -_-;;
RahXephon

*Imports*/ DVD :

FLCL
I - Wish you were here -
CB : Knocking on Heaven's Door
Serial Experiments Lain
Noir
Perfect Blue
Hellsing
Azumanga Daioh ( unwatched )
My Neighbor's the Yamadas (unwatched)
Haibane Renmei (unwatched)

VCD:

Sailormoon ( not that it works..)
Scrapped Princess (unwatched)

VHS :

X: The movie (it's lost, though)

Yes, that's all. Fairly small list. Hopefully it'll expand as I go.
I seem to have a lot of *unwatched* anime, too. Gah... the time, the time >.<;;

* 1rst DVD = bad, bad show. Won't be completed - unless specified otherwise. ^_^
