Nothing that is any good. My monitor can't read many colors, so I just have the basic green background.

I'm not allowed to change anything on my desktop, or computer in general. So I'm stuck with this damn windows set up thing. It's very dull and boring.
I wanted to make it so that when my computer turns on, the opening to Cowboy Bebop plays, and I found a cool desktop of an Evangelion pic of all five of the Eva pilots standing on the NERV symbol that I wanted to put on my desktop. But I couldn't. And I heard of this awesome screen saver of the Eva 01 and 02 river dancing which covers up the entire screen. i would love to put that up, but, like I said before, I'm not allowed to.

Cannibal why aren't you allow to?
These things don't take hardly any memory up or anything? But the things you said you would like sound pretty good, I hope one day you will be able to have them on your computer

He thinks that whenever you save something, it's going to take up the memory. Even stuff done on paint, or microsoft word. He says that the files are going to cause to computer to over flow and then we wont be able to do anthing with it. I tried to explain to himhow small an MP3 was once when he started b*tching at me about having too many songs on the computer, and he wouldn't listen to a thing I said. He saw a file that said 560 kb and he was all like, "What the f*ck, look at all the memory that's taking up!" He told us to save everything we had onto a bunch of floppy's and I tried to tell him how useless they were, but he just said that if the files are too big to store on the discs, then they shouldn't be on the computer in the first place. So freedome is a fine comodity when it comes to what I can do on the computer. But one of the plus side of him not knowing anything about the computer is that all I have to do is put my files in a hidden folder and he will never find them. But he also thinks that if I got MSN, AIM, or any other chatting crap on my computer, he thinks that it will give us a bunch of viruses and cost us a hundred dollars a month. There's no reasoning with him.

Wow that sucks Cannibal, I feel sorry for you having to put up with that
I know I wouldn't be able to really, but I don't seem to have that problem with my parents though Well I hope one day your step dad will see some sense and realise that saving stuff and changing stuff on the computer won't make it stop working

damn man. that F`in sucks.
I hope you get your own comp soon man. Or your step dad to learns somethin about comps. geez man, that aint right. what does he do on the comp neways? a comp is supposed to be used. whats the point of having space on your comp and not using it? I seriously hope things get better for ya CC. and a quick question, does anyone think a persons desktop reflects on what kind of a person they are? I think soul`s shows that she like FF.(kinda obvious, lol) I had to spend the entire night reinstalling the crap i wanted on my comp. Had too much crap i didnt use. Now i gotta sort what i want on my comp and what i dont. otherwise, it would just get full again within the next few weeks. and which one do you guys like better? S2000? or the celica from the top post? I`m trying to lay off having too many backgrounds now too. |

I feel that a desktop highly reflects the users personality. Whenever I see a desktop at someones place, you can always tell what kinda person he/she is.
I think that it would be a lot more succesfull for those online, matchmaker things if instead of saying what kinda person you are, just show em your desktop. Then you can get a pretty good idea if you'd like the person or not. I know that it would work for the girl I lime because I saw her desktop and all of the crap on her computer, and it showed me how alike we were. That's my perspective on it anyway.

I think probably quit a few people on here would of guessed I liked FF without having to look at my desktop Anyway I have to agree I think what people have on there desktop can say what sorta person they are like or at least what that person is into and that like me for example liking the FF series oh and as for which background looks better Had, its hard to tell since both of them look nice, but I think I prefer the first one you posted because it isn't to bright like the last one is, but that's imo anyway

To post your desktop...
1.) Have your desktop showing on your comp, then press "Print Screen/SysRq". Its a button on your keyboard. 2.) Go into paint, or any other graphics program and just paste it. Then save it as a .jpeg/.jpg image. 3.) Next, you have to put your image online. Host it on some free webspace. If you dont have your own webspace, you can always e-mail the image to someone who does, and they can put it online for you. Or if you want to have it easy, just tell us about it! |

I always wondered what that button did.
It was always starring at me with an evil look, waiting for me to press it and do something evil. Aaarrrrrg!
