I do to and that's one of the things I'd like to do, making video games. I wouldn't mind testing games out either or playing them and answering questions people may have on how to get past a certain part in the game.

Not if your studying the following books to be a "Game Designer", such as C++, im still on the book, but it's great, well sort of. The thing is goodman, I never give up. I plan in the future so I can be prepared, plus, why not go to a program that teaches you to learn the basics, of creating a game. Giving up, well not bring me anywhere.

Thank's Goodman, you really incouraged me, to stay even more focus on my goal in the future. And I well not give up, because games are calling my name, to create. I would start off with as either a apprentice, or take a course to learn more. To who, who want to be a game designer, don't give up, try to over come this reality thing like it was a game. Plan in the future, and you well succeed.

Personally, I think this game falls strictly into the "It Could've Been/Should've Been, but Wasn't" category (for a sequel).

just beat the dante disc, i must say the game really picks up later on the levels, more enemies, more intense battels and the final boss battle was really sweet, loved every minute of it..

im playing as lucia now, wow she moves much quicker, her attacks are more smotter than dante, she has some sweet ass tricks/combos, nice arieal moves too .. also she looks really nice on her dt form..

ill play some more of lucia, lates ..

I am getting this game!! I don't care about a few negative reviews!! I think it's possible they're just being tough on it cuz it's not different enough from the first to their liking, but hell if they had released it as an add-on to the previous adventure I don't think anybody would care. If it plays like the first, it certainly can't be that bad. I also think that standards have been raised for sequels more these days. I can't exactly explain it, but I think a lot of people expect all these new innovations and everything in their sequels due to the level of technology we have now compared to even say a few years ago. Anybody else think that sounds like a possible theory?
Anyway, as I said I am getting this game. The Getaway got its fair share of bad reviews, but just talking to other people who had played it and enjoyed it and doing my own research convinced me to make my own decision and not let the reviews do it for me. I reccommend for those who need to see a reliable review before buying a game to check out the ones Ps2Fantasy does. They, in my opinion, are the best.

Thumbs down

Hey, RPH, my copy of DMC2 doesnt work properly with the Stealth controller, unfortunately. Dante keeps moving around, even when your not controlling him, and basically makes it very difficult. Luckily i have a regular ps2 controller so it will work normall with that. Hope you dont have the same problem....

goodman, theres got to be some fualt there with your stealth controller, you should check it out, becuase I woulndt like that, its most probally your stealth controller, but if it works fine on other games, could be your copy of DMC2. Best check out.

One disk for Lucia (about 3 hours if you go slow) and one disk for Dante (about 5 hours is my estimate).. so I really dont even know WHY theres 2 DVD's, considerin' they certainly couldve put it on one disk easily... but oh well, makes u feel like ur gettin' more bang for your buck :-p

I love Lucia's moves, especially the one she does with the walls, I was blown away with it. SOO FREAKING COOL!!!

I am playing Dante disk first.....of course. But Unlike King Freak, I am gonna take alot of time to finish! I hate finishing the game quick. I took 2 1/2 months to finish the first one. It was cool.

Man this game is full of STYLE. But why oh why Dante is so quite this time around.

And one more thing I didn't really like , are the Menus. The DMC1 menus were soooooo cool and amazing. in DMC2 everything is so simple, like a NES option menus or something. Oh well... the game rocks anyway!

^^ glad that you like it..

here, ill give you some really cool combos to do..

Quote:
- Dante's sword combos are performed differently. First off, get used to NOT PRESSING R1. Because the "cooler" combos deal with not pressing it.

- Anyway, here we go. Press Triangle with no direction in rapid succession to peform a four hit combo.

- Press Triangle Once, then Press Any Directional and then keep pressing Triange. You'll then perform a three hit-combo.*remember, R1 not depressed*

- Press Triangle Twice, THEN press any direction, and conitnue mashing Triangle. You will then peform a kick ass 8 hit combo...or ten hit combo. Lost count.

- And lasty, Press Triangle three times, THEN press any direction, and while direction depressed, mash Triangle, you'll peform a sazzy 6 hit combo.(this is my fav. combo)

- Pressing R1 only allows you to perform Stinger and Hightime-that is the only unique thing about it. Also, the only combo you can do with R1 depressed is the standard four hit combo *I believe*

- To perform Hightime...it's the same as DMC1. Press and hold, and Dante will go up in the air. After so, press X again at the peak, and when at the peak, press R1 Triange Twice quickly, then press Triangle again. This process looks like, Hightime, Jump in air, double jump, TWO kickflips, finish with down chop. Very cool.

Multiple-stab combo(Devil trigger form): Triangle Triangle, pause 1 second, directional button + Triangle again. No need for mashing.

6-hit combo: Different variations. First one is simple. 2 hit combo, lock-on, 4 hit combo, all linked up. Second one is afore mentioned by the topic creator, but you simply press at any other direction (most preferably back) while in your third slash to instantly chain into the second set of 3 slashes.
most of that also work for lucia.. try it..

Will definitely try some of those combos...

I've also beaten Lucia's disc today, and now I think I like this game even more (especially since the story is much more clear to me). To hell with the negative reviews!
